in the current state, bots do not exit fire before starting to extinguish it, this causes them to stand there until they die, this should be fixed
also, bots sometimes dont seem to mind fire and just enter it, i lost many squads because of this… i think they were more cautious of fires before the AI update (which i think was otherwise good). they would usually rush into fire when i’d accidentally enter it, happens often in burning moscow village…
Sometimes bots actually jump over fires if the distance is possible or they move a few feet sometimes which they might get out of the fire. But you’re right majority of the times they stand still and try and put out a never ending flame.
here, but as it turned out, it was due to the fire above the rally point i didnt notice before.
since the extinguish time is lower for those fires (or it is a bug), soldiers managed to get out of that death trap, though, some of them did stumble upon another fire which did kill them (yes, they stood in there trying to extinguish fire, but getting fried at the same time)
now this was a really nice example of what i had in mind, in this replay, at about 8:00 there was a bot i killed with molotov (he just happened to come too close to fire once flask was already dropped)
i also observed the behavior of the other bots that got caught in fire, it seems like other stepped just a little away from fire each time fire extinguishing timer got reset, but still took a lot more damage than necessary, the one that is lying on the ground just stood there though…
