A common complaint in enlisted is about the bots ability to zero in on your position with lazer beam accuracy once you fire at them. This proves that if provoked, the bots elicit a reaction which is something like :
“Acknowledge being fired at”
“return fire”
“check for player death”
“return fire”
“Continue”
If theres a reaction to being fired at it can also mean the bots can have a reaction that isnt just aim and return fire. Why not make the bots become supressed or illicit a fear reaction with the quick turn firing speed greatly affected. it could be something like
“acknowledge being fired at”
“Fear response- hip shot accuracy and accuracy while quick turning greatly reduced”
“return fire”
“Check for player death”
“reduce fear effect”
“return fire”
“Continue”
The current system is fine for the type of game we have now. Monotonous bot farming where you spawn hugging the other team hardly fits well with fake tactical / authentic elements. If anything, we already have too many of those fake elements implemented and not doing anything of value.
Personally I wouldn’t mind if they shifted the nature of combat towards something more… thoughtful. Bot squads provide a unique opportunity to do something that can’t be done normally. To combine authenticity and accessibility in a way that is impossible in traditional games.
It’s just that it’s probably way too late for any of that. Even if I thought that current developers are capable of creating anything that actually functions instead of only making it look like it functions.
if you minded getting killed by player as much as by bot, you wouldnt notice bots at all
so stop thinking about that one time bot killed you, its supposed to be a soldier after all, would you let someone kill you, just because you arent being squad leader?
bots need a buff instead, not that they’d be able to oneshot you, but being able to keep the enemy from breaking your team’s line would be good enough already
