Bombs with timed and contact fuze and their different mechanics

Currently (from what I observed) all plane bombs have time fuzes (except for AI bombers).
So it would be nice if we could choose contact or time fuzes and their delay time.
I can think of 2 options:

I could end here but…
Irl bombs with timed fuzes (later TFs) have a tedency to burry in the ground or… in the buildings. So I wonder if it could be reflected in the game.

  1. Bombs with TFs could ignore roofs when the colision check happes. This would ensure that structures like bunkers would remain (relatively) safe from air strikes. But I don’t know if this is technically possible.
Also it doesn’t address the burry in the ground scenario.

  2. Change damage cone.
From what I remember, current bombs have 2 types of damage: pressure (in form of a sphere) and fragments (in form of a cone).

Cone could be altered a bit to simulate how bombs with TFs work. Example:

Thanks to this “hourglas” shape, a well placed bomb could damage ppl inside houses. In exchange it’s “surface” damage cone would be much narrower, making it harder to kill targets in the open (simulation of burrying in the ground).

Of course there is a problem. If planes can damage soldiers inside buildings then nobody is safe. Those who played Normandy before the bomb nerf know what I mean (though it shouldn’t be anywhere near that bad).
Another problem is that bombs with TFs are meant to require precision, but who needs precision when you can drop 8 of those bombs? So some form of limitation may be needed.

To be clear, I don’t know if this is a good idea.
But it is for sure interesting and it’s worth to discuss it imo.

Ultimately, it all boils down to the fact that the game has too small maps, or too small capture points.
But for this type of bomb, it would be possible to reduce the radius or damage (So that, for example, everyone in the house does not die if they have full hp, but get seriously wounded, knocked out).

It seemed to me, that currently player planes use ‘assault fuse’ - if dropped from a high altitude (which is a rare thing), they explode on impact, if dropped close to the ground, they explode later, to reduce the damage on the one who dropped them.
But maybe I’m wrong.

It would be interesting.
