Bolt action need a damage buff

Currenlty BAs are not viable at all. They take time to cycle the next shot, you have a small magazine, and if you miss you die

Bolt actions should have their default damage increased, so they dont knock people up to 50m. They instakill 1 shot. Except if hit in the arms or legs.

Past 50m bolt actions will knock, or rarely kill. A person with bitality past 50m would survive

Currently there is no reason to use a BA instead of a Semi or a SF. This buff would make them actually viable, for a person with good aim and reaction time.

Currently bolts can take 3 shots to FULLY kill a person with vitality. Talk anout ridiculous

Giving an alternative rather than just using an auto gun would be nice.

If all your hitting is arms then thatā€™s a you problem, itā€™s pretty easy to knock targets at 100+ m with kar98k

Yea and no one is talking about 100m ++ ranges. We know it knocks. The problem is that it knocks even in point blank.

This just encourages more full-auto weaponry more and more.

Idealy in a well balanced game, you try to make everything have its place. Every gun, every vehicle.

Currenlty:

SMGs - close to medium range engagments

MGs - close to long range engagments, are denial

Select fires - for everything

Semi - auto - jack of all trades, expert in all master of none

Shotguns - close range engagments, bunker clearing

Flamethrowers - objective clearers, large group ereasers, excelent are denial.

Annnnd

Bolt actions - are also here.

BAs should be more rewarding, aka my proposal if you hit someone within 50m they die, no knocks. But doing good with a bolt action requires a lot of skill, compared to everything else. So you would be devastating if yoire good, but still a SF would probably be better.

Several rifles already do this, stop trying to get garbage like the mas 36 buffed, theyā€™re fine

There arenā€™t any hard numbers rn but soldiers seem to require 20 damage to not get knocked, no rifle besides the Berdan goes over 20 at 0m and many bolties drop to near 10 damage at 100m, iirc without a headshot no rifle besides the Berdan will OHK enemies to the chest under 100m without knocking them.

Then we also need to give semis more rof and give SFs the same cap while on semi.

Definitely not 20. You can reliably KO at midrange with 14-15 hitpower. So IĀØm guessing the cutoff is around 10-13.

Yes thatā€™s what bolt actions are like in real life, Yes they have a small magazine again in real life they did and yes if you miss you die again realistic. I donā€™t see any issues with the bolt-actionā€™s

I mainly use bolt actions even though i have semi autos so there is a reason to use them.

Seriously ? that sucks just reduce the additional health that vitality gives.

-bolt actions are worthless
-semi autos are not good. ( with the exception of sniper rifles, they ā€œcanā€ be useful )
-most smgs are good
-some mgs are good
-select fire are god tier.

I can not understand how anyone can possibly say bolt actions are in a good spot.

I guess I dont know the answer here. Bolt actions were historically replaced once semi autos and select fire rifles were done with the teething stage out side of the sniper role. I mean its sucks they arent AS good but thats sort of how it is. Small caliber revolvers were phased out by semi autos, AT rifles were replaced by shaped charged rockets. Sort of how it went

I donā€™t know, I just have played today tunisia and did some really long range sniping with the standard kar 98 (no scope). BA are so accurate, I got several headshots and at that range (140+ m) they couldnā€™t return fire with ther SA or automatics.
To me that is the true power of BA.

SA are less accurate but you can wreck havoc against BA in short and medium range. What I really think is they should nerf SMG dmg output on medium range (higher damage drop off) that would make SA good counters against SMG at medium range.

Yet which ones? Cause thereā€™s like a few good ones and the rest are kinda crap. Things like the No.4 or SMLE are mostly fine, but something like the M38 carbine I just canā€™t see anyone using effectively. Seeing as it may even take 2, maybe even 3 shots to down someone.

And again, problem is:
You miss, you die.
You hit, donā€™t even down the enemy and die.
Thatā€™s what the damage buff suggestin is for. For them to actually kill in 1-2 shots.

So something else since you said how accurate they are is also how cheap they are to upgrade meaning even more accuracy. You can max out a starter BA and one shot kill almost everyone for a pretty low bronze cost
