Binocs on Tanks - aiming and missing?

This is for exp tankers who use binocs please.

When using binoculars, the mg fires exactly where I see with the reticle (circle), but if I am let’s say, on Berlin or another map, pull out Jagdpanther, KT the circle reticle and the actual cross hair of the binocs moves around like gun sway, I know where to shoot tanks normally, but if I align the circle reticle when using binocs on the tank, my actual tank rounds seem to not hit at all. But if I go to commander without binocs, works fine, also gunner view works fine too?

Are the binocs and actual sights bugged or is there a technique?

its cuz of the placement of the machineguns, its better to just watch where ur shots are going and to aim there.

But its not the mg that is fine, it’s the main gun om talking about…

ah for the main gun u gotta take in mind that ur shots will go in a curve path not a straight path
the gun sway on binoculars is cuz of the terrain, ur binocs will shake just like the tank sight on most terrains, but if u press E once or just watch ur speed u can avoid the shaking
ur other problem tho, i dont understand it tbh

Helpful, but what sight the cross in the middle of binocs or the circle reticle of main gun, do you need to allow for bullet drop so aim above the actual tank, if say 200m away?

I did not expect that much bullet drop on KT, JP for example

i dont know how to explain it but in that distance just aim a bit higher, i’ve memorized where most tanks ammos are placed so i usually shoot those spots and they go up in a glorious ball of flame, but in 200m try aiming half a centimeter higher

and also remember to watch for ur cannon breach to not be blocked, cuz with binocs ur watching the enemy from a place higher than ur cannon breach, most of the time the gun’s path to the enemy is blocked but u wont see it cuz of the binocs
happens to me when i try to take cover behind stuff like tank wreckages

Been practicing I think it may well have been tank wreckage that was blocking my shot, went in practice and figured out small drop to accurately rack any tanks now with binocs :+1:

nice but ur worst enemy are snipers, try to stay as far from enemies as u can and hold C to free look without moving ur turret so u can scan the battlefield fast

The drop on the pzIII N premium is significant, if at range literally shooting the sky to hit them. But good to fire on practice, as far range with binocs, can mean you survive again Sherman or Grants in Tunisia
