Had the same issue, even though I joined a server with enough people.

I have a feeling the mode is going official. Tommy has not updated the mod and has gone radio silent since a while ago.

Sadly not, I think Tommy is taking a break from Enlisted, he said he was quite frustrated when I spoke to him

Yesterday were problems with servers. So maybe because of it you were unable launch Big Action mod? Looks like right now servers fine and mod works?

(As how you can note it’s latest version v795r that was uploaded around week ago).

He has been afk for a while. I don’t even see him speaking much in the group he created himself.

Tommy was the one who breathed life into end game Enlisted, I always enjoyed the scale, 4 planes at once, artillery, mobile rallies before we had in game… not sure why the devs didn’t listen to the players feedback how this was fun and how enlisted should be played.

There was never an issue with performance when 50-100 players in game. I might retry it as it was amazing.

I do hope @tommyZZM will come back, but merge broke his mod I think… @James_Grove what happened to this mod, why wasn’t it given more focus mate?

Tommy must have fixed it, so its working again, I might log in and give it some time once I have speed grinded these events.

What version is he on now?

Interested to know does he use the new APC models as mobile rallies or his versions, Stalingrad tractor, axis half-track.

interesting.
my message got for some reason removed:

anyway, let me specify.
i forgot about this bug.

alright so, you can play it in solo:

but not in multiplayer.

it used to work 24 days ago proven by devenddar over the russian forum.

so… yeah, better ping @tommyZZM to let him know that currently, his mod in the multiplayer version does not work…

why you may ask? :woman_shrugging:

that’s a good question.

usually the problems with mods are:

servers region.

if it’s not north america, mods won’t start.

but with tommy’s mod, is different. it simply won’t start.
unless in singleplayer.

if i have to guess, spawns were changed, certain objectives, and i believe some equipment too.

He’s tired of DF by now, and they’re only paying lip service to custom development.
Yet actual work is sorely lacking, such as referee positions, player socialization systems, in-game income for players of custom modules (not authors), ease and openness of module development, damage to modules caused by reckless developer changes during version changes, and the current mess of uploading and posting on the module site (randomly posting garbage content, piracy, secondary creations, no support for more partitions (such as audio and sound effects) ).
Additionally, game updates have been repeatedly delayed during the “merger” period, but the promised “modelers”, artists, and techs will not stop working on new vehicles, mechanics, and fixes in the meantime (but for now, the work of Panshing and others continues to be delayed), and the addition of a large amount of new content is being delayed as well (BR4~5 for the Japanese camp, and the New Battle DLC (which includes the 1 New Battle DLC that’s been missing for the duration of 2023 )) continue to be delayed), new player classifications, map mode selections and matchmaking continue to be delayed months after the merger, new rewards and penalties continue to be delayed, confusion over corps development caused by the “merger” continues, and weapon tweaks continue to be just the simplest of numerical nerfs (e.g. paratroopers, touch grenades) after spending a lot of time on them.

well,

things are slow in enlisted. ( as far as the process of development goes )

but that’s up to him if he has enough patience to support it.

given his relative success of the big action and it’s support by the community ( i would say even a cult of it’s own ) , would be a bit of a shame to let it down.

but, again, that’s up to him.

so far, his mod is still playable. not in multi though.

It’s been 3 years, 2 more. The Soviet Union would have completed its reversal of victory over Germany.
But do you think DF can do it?
Right now, I’m just guarding my treasure pile and dozing off too.
Took a break from developing my slave sound modules.
There are no more hopes and fantasies for DF.

Recently spent 3000k to buy Dutch soldiers, so that’s all the liquidity I have (as shown)

not… entirely sure what you are trying to say here.

Why BA’s updates have stalled for a while, and where Tom has gone (he’s off playing another game for now), and part of the reason why

Robil doesn’t discuss data mining much these days either.
Dinosaur, and you Eric, module production is looking slower and slower now too.
Including scav’s module production, and the Soldier Stories thread discussion he moderated is getting shorter on words.
Sigh.

BA’s ?

no idea about that.

but well, if i have to guess, managing 3 clients and once might be challenging since every new bug fixes, other old / new bugs gets introduced so…

it’s a cat and mouse game i suppose.

but i’m not here to play devils advocate.

beside, in about two or three weeks we should get a new major update.

so here’s that i suppose.

EDIT.

ah i see. Big Actions updates.

yeah well, i suppose he has kinda done enough for one mod.

and can’t continue onto bigger things such as towing because there are still strict limitations.

i believe he might return once custom models will be able to be uploaded to introduce more vehicles such as the 222 and few others that he personally wanted.

We will try to inform him of every good news in order to try to pull him back.
At least until we leave ourselves.
