Bf109 F-1 How do you use this thing?!

I’ve been flying the Bf109 F-1 in the Moscow campaign and despite emptying entire mags into enemy planes they rarely if ever get shot down. My last game I spent TWO entire mags into an IL and it just kept on flying as if everything was A-ok. What is happening here?!? How do you perform against other planes in it? What am i missing?

The same here, the only way to destroy enemy planes is to Crashing with the plane :face_vomiting:

shoot the engine or the pilot, the bf109 also has 2mg’s 7x92 they are not good, you can try to use the 20mm cannon but idk how it performs in enlisted.

you dont, lol
just play as infantry and hopelessly get bombed by them

current damage model is so disadvantageous for german, their supposed to be overpowered Minengeschoss (except 30mm) belt are useless literally against anything

this will keep continue until the dev add mechanic where plane will disintegrate after receiving minengeschoss like war thunder

In normandy 20mm on Bf109 performs good enough. So probably it’s IL still being a flying brick.

Interesting fact that seems to be ignored completly by devs is that the Luftwaffe almost only used AP rounds in all machine guns and cannons.

Yet I dont feel any of that in Enlisted.

I’ve been kiled quickly by somethign in Moscow in Il-2 - it can absorb a lot of 7.92mm bullets f’sure, but 20mm can blast off the tail or big chunks of wings.

And while the damage model is better than it used to be, planes are still plenty tough - with 2 20mm and 2 machineguns can take most of the Il-2’s ammo to kil a Hs-123, unless you kill the pilot

Air combat is not 1-shot-1-kill (unless you are using the 110 in Normandy) - learn patience, aim better, get in closer, etc…

Do what they said tbh
Cutting planes down is the easiest its been since CBT before they buffed their durability to hell and back
Love me 109

I main fighter and I can say you can’t shoot them unless you kill the pilot by a lucky shot, I don’t know what the devs smoke but there “update” about to reduce the planes resistance has changed literally NOTHING, it’s like shooting a tank with a smg.

The BF109 F1 is trash, it has only one 20mm canon with 60 ammo, how many time I spent all my bullets while I was really close to an IL2 or even a Yak and they continued to fly like nothing.
You have less canons and less bullets than the planes of Normandy while the Russian planes are at least 2 or 3 times tankier than the plane of Normandy. Can you tell me how are you supposed to destroy them? That’s the the true problem but devs don’t care about balance.

Moscow is unplayable as axis pilot while Normandy is decent.

You’re probably not even hitting with the 20mm anyway, it’s almost half the MV of the MG 17, meaning anything other than 100m off the tail of someone flying straight and level is a crapshoot whether you hit or not

I kept persevering with it and have made some progress with the Bf109 f1. I’ve found improved results by getting much closer to the target before dumping the 20mm into them. Shooting anything at range seems to have minimal even negligible results. Booming and zooming is easy to do but once again rarely achieves anything due to the extremely limited time you have to put bullets on target before your off target again. Getting close on someones tail seems to be most effective but its hard to do due to the bf109’s far superior speed, slowing down enough to stay behind them generally makes me close to stalling. I’ll keep at it, maybe im still missing something otherwise the devs have done something wrong as it seems the soviets clearly have an advantage in both the planes and tanks.
