Beware of the Takasago Volunteers! 🇯🇵

Currently, Japan is the only faction which doesn’t have either an event or a premium Guerilla squad in-game. Thus, I would like to see an event Guerilla squad for them featuring the Takasago Volunteers.

These soldiers were recruited from the Taiwanese indigenous people and specialized in insurgency and guerilla warfare.

They would get the Hino-Komuro M1904 semi-automatic rifle as their main weapon. It could hold a 15-round magazine.

For extra spice, we could also get the Hino Komuro M1904 pistol which used a unique blow-forward mechanism.

Lastly, they should get that iconic machete as their unique melee weapon just like the NKVD squad.

Personally for a squad based on the Takasago I’d give them a more thematic weapon such as a Chinese reproduction of a Japanese gun like a Manchurian Arisaka or something or a Chinese gun

That rifle could be added into the research tree or for a different special squad

Imo this gun should be in the tech tree.

They are aboriginalon from occupied taiwan who were recruited by the Japanese army.
Has nothing to do with China mainland.

That is true but let’s not overlook China’s long history with Taiwan. That’s why I think a Chinese weapon would be (somewhat) thematic

Bro, they are aboriginalon.
How they gonna get the weapon from china.

Then you should choose a army from Japanese puppet government in China.

The same way my (idea) Polish Paratroopers that fought in Market Garden got a resistance SMG manufactured all the way in occupied Poland

The point is that they have a unique weapon that is thematic to the squad.

I know it doesn’t match up 100% but it’s passable

Another example is if we had a special squad based on the Spanish Anzul divison ideally they would have a Spanish SMG

I’ll give you an example, there were native americans that fought in WW2, a notable unit being code talkers in the Pacific theatre. If they ever got added as a special squad (likely radio operator) they’d most likely be given an American weapon

Yeah, of course. Cause they are from US and the army recruit them are also US army.
But taiwan is occupied by japan since 1895, The resistance of the indigenous people in the mountains has nothing to do with China. So even if some of them cooperate with Japan, they will not be given Chinese weapons.
