Better Forest Graphics

random input: how about we get forest graphics like here?
EDIT: The main difference i see is the significantly higher amount of bushes/short trees and more realistic shadows/lighting. Most forests in Enlisted look sterile due to a lack of the natural generation cycle of trees (very young ones, short ones, medium and than adult trees).
A forest also needs to contain many more bushes than trees, in enlisted its the opposite

And more trees mainly.

Enlisted doesn’t have anyone that could be working as the Environment Artists in other dev teams and it shows. They do a very poor job with their foliage, bushes and trees. I’m not even sure if their engine even support speedtree.

EDIT:

Mate quit DF team for Ubisoft i wonder why Enlisted look so inferior when compared to Far Cry 6

That could also get destroyed by shooting at them with heavy ordinance.

I don’t know why we cannot yet…

The thing is. You can, but just some of them. And it’s completely random.

I feel like that has no impact on how good forests look. If anything the trees are going to clip into one another and look worse.

for the most part I dislike the autumn season forest, it looks bad somehow though I can’t name what exactly

on the other hand my favourite are snowy moscow forests, they look badass

more trees and bushes would cover too much space people would start camping there etc.

it’s just the quality of trees and bushes that need a fix, I think this will change when the market share of older consoles consistently decreases.

I agree. The volokolamsk_autumn map is one of the ugliest maps out there.

i would like new vegetation.

but first they kinda should tweak AI as they have no issues shooting through dense forests and bushes.
( for how much " dense " Enlisted forest can be )

leader of the butthurt army, welcome!

try doing something productive for the community before spouting your personal negativity.
everyone in this thread added good info/positive posts, people like you dont seem to understand how communities work and how to create an environment where people want to be part of.

It is literally just by adding more trees that a canopy is created. Once they start doing this more, they will be able to apply it to the Pacific maps (we have yet to see any jungle canopy). Small clearings were near roads and other places, so having places to set up AA won’t be an issue.

The environments are OK but they really should do some more studying on environments and map locations and maybe use some of the stuff that Ron_McKracker posted in the past.

In general, I like the vegetation of Enlisted as well as its attention to detail when you cross a bush and slow down, especially for the performance it offers, but yes, there is something subtle and quite imperceptible that could be improved, I think they are patterns repeated as they say, or the textures… I’m not sure, the brain somehow realizes that although it tells me to put it into words.
But maybe they are limited by the consoles, or their graphics engine, Dagor engine I think it was?
But in general I like enlisted’s graphics, althougah an improvement is always welcome and exciting.

Imo it’s because trees are usually almost naked when snow falls. Meanwhile those in game are in between summer and autumn.
(Of course it can happen irl too but it’s not really “normal”.)

Though I can be mistaken.

imo it’s the game’s color palette, it’s bright and goofy, that’s why it looks bad. I wish they add color filters it seems like such an easy yet impactful thing to add…

Not only for people with super-computers :desktop_computer: :moneybag:
