Suggestions? I use mp40 and fan plus some bolt action rifles

I’m at level 20 and I prefer G43 and MGs. I was not impressed with the early SMGs because they should work well in CQB but my expreince with them is not so good becuase you need multiple hits as they lack alpha damge MG and semi-auto rifle have. I died so many times with SMG to rifles and MG in CQB, you simply start shooting - landing hits (white hit markers) but the rushing enemy simply one shots you with rifle or MG so I learnt not to use assault until I unlock late war weapons.

Use what ever you want since I’m using almost all the lmgs in my 3 assaulter squads
Assault squads can’t be equipped with FG42s
you play your assault squads with only 4 assaulter?

If you want to dominate on battlefield as German basically this. Plus I like to use 2 gunner squads next to this MG34s and 42s.
I have only 4 assaulters spread across my 3 rotating infantry squads, they all have MP43s.
The question, at least to me, asks which weapon to equip assault soldiers with.
Every other infantry soldier can be equipped with an FG42 and everybody already knows this.
So in Normandy, the Axis assault squads are not any different than any other
infantry squad, possibly fully equipped with FG42s or Gewehr 43s
and 1 engineer offcourse…
