Besides just putting in time is there any tricks that anyone found out to increase level faster?

Playing popular faction so basically every match end up with you as winner = exp multiplier.
For example Tunisia Allies, Berlin Axis, Pacific Axis.

You get more XP for a victory, so dont waste the time if you know that your team will loose.

Play as engineer to kill tanks and airplanes, make sure to build rallies and ammo before you sit on an AT gun or AA gun for extra points. Unless AA guns are on the nerf week, then focus on tanks. Developers like to tinker with the AA guns and every week they seem to perform differently.

Build stuff with engineers, it increase your chance of winning and getting that 1.5 exp boost for a victory. Engineer buildable also give you passive score when your teammate use it.

Play the objective. You get 50% more xp per kill near the cap. And you will end up with more kills overall. If you win, you get more XP, if you loose, you will make the match last shorter by actually using up the tickets faster.
Make sure you have engineers and AT gunners in almost every squad. A good rally can boost your score by a 1000 easily. Tanks are just XP piniatas. If you are getting airplaned, build AA guns and get that even fatter XP piniata
As several comrades already said:
Play engineer. It’s base XP. Build rally points, place good Sandwalls at windows and stuff. Works wonders and helps you leveling up squads as well.
Buy premium time and shoot down bombers.
There is a soft cap on xp based on time spent in a match, total blowout stomps will take longer to level up than more evenly matched campaigns.

This way it’s less grindy and more funny.
