Best tank for USSR?

Hi I’m new here, started playing Enlisted about 4 days ago. Decided to main the Soviets and so was wondering what the best tank for them was? I see quite a lot of people say the IS-2, but there’s 2 versions, a regular and the 1944 modified version. Is there much difference?

Thanks. :slightly_smiling_face:

the difference is huge.

IS2 1944 sports buffed armour (better angles. deflects more shots) making it a really tough tank to crack. also has a neat Hmg on top.

Is-2 (1944) is just the B I A S

Have fun with your grind ; )

if you’re a beginner, you won’t get the best tanks. since they were issued only for events. And the IS 2 is trash.

If your just starting I’d recommend the T-50, it’s got fast reload and decent armor and speed for the beginning of the Tech tree. If your in later tiers like BR V the IS-2 1944 is a go to for many thanks to the exact reasons above just trading for slower speed and reload with a massive armor boost and huge blast radius and penetration.

In BR V I tend to prefer the IS-1 over the IS-2 because of faster reload and slightly better speed, sure it has less armor and a smaller gun but it performs the exact same if used correctly in the right situation.

When you’re looking at vehicles and weapons in general it all boils down to personal preference in what works for you. No single piece of equipment is going to be the absolute best for every person.

IS-2 (1944) has better hull armor, but 1943 version has better camouflage - at long distance it is not distingushaible from regular T-34-85.

The best Soviet tank is T-34-100:

KV2, IS2, T34 100, T34 STZ, KV1, T50 and SU100 are all good - avoid the rest

Depends for which BR?

BR1: BT-7
BR2: T-28E or T-50
BR3: T-34 or KV-1
BR4: T-34-85 with 5 crew (probably the best overall tank in general)
BR5: IS-2 (1944)

Avoid T-34-100 as it’s fake and was never used in WW2

My picks:

Br 1: bt 7a f32 if you want more firepower (only limited time event), t70 has the best armour but mediocre gun

Br 2: pick between t50 and t28e. T50 has br 1 cannon but really good armour while t28e has 76mn cannon but very poor armour

Br 3: kv 1 l11 is the best. It has good cannon and almost unpennable armour. T34e stz is more movable but it is quite rare

Br 4: t 34 85 is really solid. It has great cannon that can deal with most things and it is fast. Only downside is the armour. You will die a lot

Br 5 either is 2 1944 or t 34 100. Is 2 has bigger cannon and better armour while t 34 100 has faster reload, still really good gun and better movability. T34 100 is a limited time event tank

BR1 - BT7
BR2 - T-50
BR3 - KV1
BR4 - T-34-85 (Zis-5)
BR5 - US2 (1944)

I dont understand the shitting on the 45mm cannon. It can pen a Panzer IV J on BR3 affer all while the 76mm “cannon” of the T-28s struggle against the J, especially if the hull is angled. T-28 is pure anti-infantry tank.

It is not about pen its about he. It is almost impossible to kill infantry with 37-45mm cannons

I did not have fun with T-50. Slow turret traverse speed, no usable hatch, low caliber gun.

I would definitely prefer T-28.

Reject modernity. Return to tradition. T-28E for maximum infantry bullying (howitzers > cannons any day)
Or buy the KV-2. One or the other

I love your reasoning. Lol

Wouldnt it be the T-28 then and not the E variant?

Well, I get the point but it still has issues against decently armored tank.

T 28 is infantry support tank with good he and multiple mgs.

T50 is tank killer with unmatched frontal armour and good pen.

Well, T50 is not particularly difficult to kill if you aim for the turret.

I had the same issue with the T-50. It is not bad, but it is not particularly comfortable to play
