Best rider! What is this accolade for? I can only assume it’s for the best guy sat out the top of a tank or something

Every teammates spawn in your APC should be visible in your engineer stats and counted to the total spawns stats.
Also there should be a battle hero award for the player with most spawns number by teammates (rallies and apc total). And silver prize for that should be significantly higher than for the other hero awards. 500, 1000 silver? Also score multiplier should be higher for that award. And there could be even a 2nd and 3rd place of that award (like gold, silver and bronze medal) not to discourage others when they see a player with monster engineer score in the mid of the the game.That would increase rally and apc quantity for sure.

Indeed. And sometimes it is achieved because there were simply no tankers or pilots.
