There are many fire support weapons - all LMG’s are fire support, not all fire support weapons are LMG’s, and specifically automatic rifles in the context of the Avtomat were not LMG’s. The original purpose of the BAR was not as an LMG either - it became a poor substitute for one because the US didn’t adopt a proper LMG, but being issued as a squad weapon with a bipod until the M1918A2 in 1938!
Your point is only “valid” because you arbitrarily choose to exclude a batle rigfle cartridge that does not suit your point.
Why do the devs want to ruin my fun by not allowing me to play moscow campaign that bad? I mostly preferred playing BR2 so I dont have to play Berlin all the time.
I have no idea what the devs are trying to achieve with opening all maps to all BRs - makes the BR system pretty pointless - not to mention the preferred map system doesn’t work either.

Designed by Sergei Simonov over the course of about ten years, it would only last a short time in service before being replaced by the Tokarev SVT-38 and then SVT-40.
