Well, I remember games that gave the the best all-round weapon from the start, and then made you unlock “diversity”.

Out of my head best example would be Battlefield 3 where you would start with the most broken gun in the game and the first unlock was the second best Meta gun. (M16, M416)

I remember when ppl said P90 was shit gun. Then me and some bois where rocking hard with it for some time then ppl said it was OP xD Heck i even slapped on an ACOG on that thing and started to snipe ppl from afar xD

Berlin is a knife fight in a phonebooth (everyone remember those?) between two people wearing blindfolds.

It isn’t going to be pretty.

I had to get into a different mental space for that campaign. It stands out from the others, which can be a good thing, but it’s definitely a different “energy” when you play it.

G43 won’t work much better than bolties in Berlin. Since it’s rof is low, the stock low damage ( 12 ) will actually be a problem in cqc vs 35% health ppsh41 guys. There’s the overlooked vg2 that you should consider for your rifles needs:

  • it’s cheap to buy and upgrade.
  • it’s got decent stock damage output (14, like most Axis bolties)
  • decent bullet cycle speed
  • AMAZING reload speed. It uses a g43 mag, so you got 10 bullets instantly.
  • because of last point, also a huge magazine, for a bolty (10 bullets)
  • bonus point: a Volks rifle. Makes you look “swag”

Then once you unlock the fg42 and fg42II, you can finally compete toe to toe vs Russian smg users. Hang in there!

i would rather suggest gearing up your squads with a few max lvl g43s, the rest could be bolties
being semi auto helps a lot with the close ranges of berlin and max lvl gets them over the 13.5 hp breakpoint
also since theyre a low level unlock they arent that expensive to upgrade

I just started digging into Berlin.

I wouldn’t say Axis is unplayable, but they do have a hard road in the early levels. I agree with the suggestion about the VG2.

I like Berlin, but I only play when it’s late here because it seems that the better Berlin players are on then. I’m on Central-US timezone and any time after midnight here seems to be fine
