Being able to see from the driver's port while controlling the gunner in a tank

Sorry for making another post, but there doesn’t seem to be an edit option, unless I am blind.

How about when we are driving a vehicle, there would be a little window on the top right that shows you driver’s view, so that you can see where you are going while still having control of the gun. Switching between driver and gunner is a bit of a hassle when in battle.
Of course, with an option to switch it off in the settings or change size/location, with how claustrophobic it is in the tank, and with no third person view like in WT, I think this would help multi tasking 2 crew members better.

See below:

What do you guys think?

I would rather see commander visors actually functional / usable. It would solve the issue of being blind while aiming with slightly worse aiming as a trade off.
Sorry but I don’t like your “collective-mind” idea.

In this game you don’t controll the tank, you controll the tank CREW. While you have direct controll over only one crew member at a time, you give orders to the other, AI-controlled members.
(Just like any other squad in the game).
That’s why you can’t have the POV of multiple squad members/ crewmembers at the same time. That’s also the reason why your controll feels more direct/ responsive if you switch to your driver.

I actually like this system, it is very similar to RO2

Commander visors being static is a placeholder, frankly I think it isn’t worth asking for because it will inevitably be fixed.

No worries, part of the curiosity if the player base likes or not the idea.

I know, that’s the idea behind the little driver view port. Ideally while you aiming the gun, the driver crew member would be able to see where he is going. But since we end up controlling him anyway, we end up driving blind anyway. The driver wouldn’t drive into a house that he sees coming.

Unless we (and I would love this idea) give another player access to the driver’s seat. But I don’t think that would ever happen.

you give orders to the other, AI-controlled members.

If we could tell the driver AI to independently traverse obstacles while I am controlling the gun, I would also be happy (assuming the driver actually does a half decent job)

I LOVE the system. And I am very happy for the way it is, I just wanted some more QoA added (not a big deal if it isn’t, just spit-balling).
I would love the whole RO2 tank experience added eventually. Free look inside the crew compartment, animation of moving from driver to dead gunner seat, forced to look away from the gun while reloading because you don’t have a loader.

Other players can take up empty seats when you have casualties.

I like the driver port idea - simple and to the point

They can? That’s great news! I might try it out with my friend later.

It’s usually juust some random being a PITA - but if you have a friend in the game then might be better

Generally I like the idea.

If the AI bot that is driving the tank starts shouting “Achtung Soldanen” or whatever, then I am fine with not having “collective-mind”. But if you are shooting at something that is left from your tank while whole bunch of infantry starts charging from front and both driver and radio operator sit there and chill, then why not implement something like this. Its not all around vision or some other crap. Lots of people will still have tunnel vision, those who stay alert will maybe save themselves.

I also had an idea about the cupola. Part 1 is about that. Here is the thread:
