You can now sell your legacy, priceless unique squads. And because I feel many ppl here, don’t understand how valuable having surplus squad is, I took upon myself to list some advantages you would lose, by wasting those squads away for bread crumbs:
bigger reserve. Store soldiers in unused squads.
easier presets. No need to change soldiers from your assault squad each time you switch br… just take another assault squad!
different specialists choices in squads (legacy squads might have assaulters specialists choice, newer ones, medics for example)
different cosmetic choices.
different nationality squads! Those precious Italian or Commonwealth legacy squads.
different upgrades! You want one squad with backpack, but the other with 2 weapons? No need to respec!
Being able to use multiple same squads into rotation. 3 flamers squads? Scummy, but sure!
simply being a collector.
Yes. Selling those, is just a really, really bad move.
Especially for a ridiculous 10k silver!
For the love of our Lord, be smart. Don’t sell your squads.
I came looking for this after I sold most of mine. The only squad I didn’t sell was a P-38 squad I want to keep playing with potentially. But really, it comes down to I had around 40k silver and now I have over 600k from selling the nearly dozen German squads which are more of a pain for me to adjust than selling them would save me time. I am keeping my one precious 505th Parachute infantry regiment as a keepsake. But it was just more practical for me to sell the squads and the absurd number of reserve infantry I had.
Thing is. I play the game on and off. I bought into the closed beta and hopped off for about a year not long after Moscow launched. I tried out Berlin and Tunisia but never hopped into Stalingrad. I played the Pacific a bit when it launched but only got back into the game pre-merge. So I have a lot of unlocks, which is nice, but tbh I don’t have a lot to use them with. I can play up to BR 3 on Allies and Axis no real issue except some armor for allies but way I see it I have a climb and the cash helps more than the immediate flexibility.
Edit: Had I sunk more hours into some of the campaigns and felt more attachment I think I’d agree. As is the vehicle squads are a pain for me to adjust around and having to buy enough equipment to fully kit out a squad for each BR would bankrupt me for weeks regardless.
They add such useless features that are not needed and unwanted by 99.9% of the players but can’t fix the crucial features like bipods or the ai being useless or not being able to enter into/out the building through the windows (that also includes bots) or design/balance problems with paras joining into low BR with high BR equipment and new APC being immune to demo packs or super durable against tanks. They have weird priorities.
