Bayonets for FG-42 and MKb 42

It’s no secret that many people use bayonet charges to rapidly move their engineers into position for building rally points.
M2 Carbine and AVS 36, as well as the AVT-40, same-level unlocks as FG-42 & FG42-II for their Allied nations, all issued with bayonets, however Axis engineers have to resort to using stock Kar98k to perform same rapid movement trick. In Berlin, Axis don’t have any guns with bayonets.

Since FG-42 already have folded-down bayonet on its in-game model, it should be enable in game for the sake of equality.

As for MKb 42, in Stalingrad AVT-40 comes with a bayonet and superior stats. In Moscow, Fedorov Avtomat also known to be superior (maybe it too could get a bayonet, seeing as it has a lug for it?)

totally agreed. fg42 needs the buff. overly high rate of fire, barely any spare ammo and since the nerf update it has noticably worse recoil than any of its counterparts. bayonet would really help its ammo situation as well. mkb42 can use it too. But they would probably have to give AVS-36/AVT-40 a bayonet for their bayonets in order to allow this.

I would not buff FG 42. Only 7000 were built in WW II, but in the game it serves as a standard infantry rifle.

I think it should be more limited.

you are right, the bayonet charge is just an illusion of speed, so it would be more logical to use a knife to escape

the bayonet in the fg42 I would not like it but I am not opposed to it, personally I would remove the bayonet from those 3 weapons but if the fg42 had it it would not be bad

and i dont know any axis player using a kar98 instead of a fg42 for the bayonet

I would rather just change the bayonet charge to make it not advantageous over sprinting as a normal way to move.

Stamina should regen more slowly than usual after a charge, but when you’re charging you should get a buff that makes you keep charging a second after you would normally die. That way it works as intended and getting shot an inch away from someone won’t stop you from hitting them.

It’s really only 1% faster, I’d say even the same speed

Could’ve sworn it got tested to show it was significantly faster.

The sword does make running faster but the problem is they are only available in limited numbers except if you are Japanese where you can basically give everyone a sword.

Specifically contrary to the bayonet and hatchet?

And other guns too must have their bayonets (like kar in Berlin and winchester in Stalingrad and Moscow).

I’d like a way to acquire bayonets for my starting (and other) weapons, as I acquired them when there were no bayonets.

I remember Ian from forgotten weapons comparing the Pre-war, mid-war and kriegsmodel kars:

I suppose it would be fair to give bayonets to mid-war and pre-war kars bayonets, but not kriegsmodels, as they had their sockets removed.
