Many guns come equipped with bayonets but did you know you can remove them in the loadout screen. This can be for aesthetic reasons or statistically as the bayonet does affect certain stats.
In real life not every single soldier had a bayonet on their gun at all times. They add weight to an already heavy gun, they take up space, and they can negatively affect your shooting which is vital in the heat of combat. Soldiers often discarded them. Most bayonets were carried by soldiers in their kit and they would only affix them if a need arises if they were expecting close combat
I suggest changing the use of bayonets. Bayonets are no longer something accessed from the loadout screen. All guns with bayonets have them by default….BUT they are affixed when needed like grenade launchers. So by default a gun does not have a bayonet but the player must affix it when needed with an animation. This adds more immersion
All guns and all bayonet types are affected. For example the Mosin 44 has an integral bayonet so it would be flipped when needed. Rifles, SMGs, machine guns, shotguns, etc
I also suggest tweaking the statistic affects of bayonets so they are more substantial. There should be tangible pros and cons to using a bayonet or not
