Hi,
In many matches, there is not much action going on the battlefield. There are not much tense moments etc… Probably I started to feel boring about the train mission, I don’t know why but it seems there is not much action going on the battlefield. Here are some suggestions.
Reduce the number of bots per person. For eg, assault squad can bring 9 guys → For 1 player there are 8 bots. This is too much because too many bots always make the map uninteresting. I get that Enlisted’s main feature is bots, but too much bots remove the fun. So reduce to max 3 or 4. Also increase the player count per match. This way there will be more players on the battlefield.
Another reason being there are many players on one side and only bots on the other. In order to compensate for this, Instead of us choosing a team (axis / allies) in each campaign, merge those teams and then make sure always the player difference between two fractions on the map is at most one by assigning every subsequent member to the other fraction. By merging, I mean once a level is reached, both the allies & axis squad / tank belonging to that level is unlocked. Also halve the number of orders required to purchase a weapon / upgrade troops, vehicles etc… or double the number of orders received. Hence we don’t need to choose the fraction and can be randomly assigned. This will balance the team.
The point two may reduce your income from premium purchases due to reduction in number. But as the number of players get increased, this will add your income in the long run. But still in order to increase income and encourage you to put more efforts into the game , I suggest remove premium squads and include cosmetics. It does not affect the gameplay by any means but will surely get you good income.
I must admit this but honestly there is very little music in the game. Although there is main menu music, it is very low in volume and making not so eager to hear. So include better main game music, In game music during important events like at the start, when capturing a point, at the end game. etc. Make sure that the music is very attached to the event.
Also if possible include the squad system, where people can join a squad and span at any squad person if that person is outside of combat & there aren’t any enemies nearby. Also you can increase your favorite spawn point radius. This will reduce the running time and add more action to the battlefield.
Plus it will be also good if the tank getting struck in the trenches is somehow removed. Multiple times, we need to commit suicide.
Thanks, @Keofox and others Pls let me know what you feel
that is base infantry squad not assault squads, assault squads have 7 men in them
some more music would be nice but there wasn’t war drums in 1900s wars
there is a little mode called lone fighter, it basically has what you are looking for
only really an issue for light tanks and wheeled vehicles but if you get a medium or heavy stuck in a trench then you likely drove at an awkward angle.
rest i don’t really understand
now time for some history; during CBT the squad count for every squad type was 7
I think point two and 3 is not clear. Ill try to rephrase it.
The problem is there is bots on the one side and players on the other. This we all agree on. This problem occurs because many people want to play axis & fewer ppl allies (lets say, else opposite). This happens because people might have already completed the allies campaign and going for axis or since there are more people on the axis, more player join axis cuz allies is full of bots. In order to counter this problem, my suggestion is remove the axis / allies fraction for each campaign. Instead make them one. I.e as we level up, we unlock squad from both campaign. To elaborate, first you have base squads (both axis & allies). You play for some time and level up. Then you get next squad right ? Now you will only get squad only in one fraction, but i suggest you get squads from both fraction. Eg, once you reach level 12 in berlin (say), you will unlock both t34-85 & panther irrespective of which fraction you played. This is good because it eliminates primarily why people choose fraction. And player count will be balanced. Eg. This is how it goes. First you select campaign. You equip / upgrade squads from both allies / axis fraction. Just click play button. At the end, the system will randomly put you in one fraction in the match depending on number of players + skill. After the match you receive xp, once you level up, you unlock both allies & axis squad belonging to that level. The only problem with the above is pretty soon we will run out of orders. Hence to compensate, halve the number of orders required to purchase / upgrade or double the number of received orders.
Another problem with point 2 is it might reduce the number of premium purchases since the playtime to complete a campaign is halved (as both axis & allies squad gets unlocked at once). I feel although this will reduce the income in the short run, in the long term more players will join & the net will be positive.
(contd)- You can also give cosmetics for little gold coins. Those will not affect the gameplay in anyway while simultaneously adds income. And premium squads / vehicles can be replaced with cosmetics. Eg, in normandy, Players who purchased firefly have a good advantage over players who did not.
how about…just increasing the player count in one match?
reducing the number of troops in a squad to 3/4 max is a huge nerf and I can already see not many people happy about this. Reducing the troops also mean less variety in squad (people can’t bring engineer/radio among them).
you know they wont do it because it practically reduce the grind by half.
balancing the player in each match can simply be done with increasing the queue for faction with large number of people. and actually put the same number of real player in each match.
what kind of music? make it an option, I want to hear my enemy.
Eg, For assualt → 2 assualt, 1 mg/sniper, 1 eng/radio
Yes, thats why i told to add cosmetics. Plus as more players join, this wont be much of an issue. as reduction in grind time is compensated by increase in player count.
The only problem is if players already completed a fraction, and the other fraction has huge number of players waiting, it basically tells you to quit.
the average US infantry squad was 12 guys, early war germany had 13 while late war germany had 9, while russia had 11 is what i found. so since this game is trying to be in line with history , to some degree, the squad size is fairly accurate. though if you want less bots go play lone fighter.
hence why i said that since an immersion would be just alot of artillery, mortar and tanks since as mentioned this game is trying to abide by history
So You want to force people to grind both factions at random, and You don’t think they will desert the moment they get side they don’t want?
This is just replacing one problem with another, the issue is dwindling playerbase, in some campaigns more that in other.
Just get rid of every option there is, only one button “PLAY”, You get thrown into random campaign, random side, random map, random gamemode. Brilliant solution here, no need to thank me. Balance achieved
a good solution would be incentivise playing both sides
one option would be an xp bonus for having join any team checked, another would be an xp bonus for having both sides similar level(for example a +10% for having the same level, reduced by 3% for each level of diffrence, down to 0%)
Ahhh… This is what happens when you dont read fully and assume something.
You basically left the point where I said there wont be two different grind, only one grind, once the level is reached, squad belonging to BOTH fraction will be unlocked.
This is naive as hell. We ask every week for less grind. Every 2 weeks some has idea for campagin rework. Combined tech trees propositions every month.
And yet nothing changed for a year.
The grind is way too big on purpose, to make as many people buy premium as possible.
So they won’t just give it up so easly.
I agree someting needs to change soon though, making grind easier would help convinve players to play difrrent campaigns, as well as bringing new players that just can’t justify spending so much time on this game. This alone could be enaugh to have games on all campaigns fully saturated with players, as this is most fun right now in this game. Having 5 people shoot at team of 10 bots get boring fast, and drives more people away from game.
There are just lots of other better ideas than just combining both fronts to single grind, and yet nothing is being done so good luck trying to see Your suggestion happen.
well i dont want to be forced to play both factions and most players also probably dont want that
also squads size is a balancing factor. rifleman squads lack large ammount of specialists, but make up for that with their size
my main issue with bots is not their numbers, but that they are often so far behind, meaning they cant help with drawing fire or shooting
