My suggestion is to take a look at when the battle pass gives out the golden order in relation to how much work needs to be done to achieve it.
I am basically done my allied normandy campaign by the time I achieved my golden pass.
This means I have access to the M2 carbine, the BAR, and very soon the Thompson.
in the ALLIED NORMANDY CAMPAIGN A low damage output semi automatic gun no longer fits my level of gameplay in the least at the time it is unlocked. It is an utter waste of a slot should I try to use it over any of the three weapons named above.
Not only this but in order to make all the other armies guns also viable it should be considered to move the golden order unlock to a lot earlier within the batlte pass.
If I had been able to get this weapon prior to this point, say around the garand and carbine stage, It would have had extensive use in my army. I feel the AXIS NORMANDY would be in a similar spot once they have access to their MGs and FGs and MPs as well, although their golden gun is automatic in nature.
To this end, my warning to fellow battlepass purchasers is simple.
Use the golden gun on a campaign you haven’t finished already.
Because it can be used in any campaign it makes zero sense to have it unlock at the 50 battlepass point in the battlepass, it should be relatable to the campaign we are actually playing at the time of unlocking it, and not one we may consider playing in the future.
I do have the 1903 Pederson and it is pretty good its a 40 shot semi auto for the Assault class and its a pretty accurate gun its basically a M1 Carbine with unlimited ammo if you have a large ammo pouch.
I like it is it worth a gold card idk but its pretty good.
Off all the weapons you have named the only one that contests with the golden order gun for Normandy is the Thompson. It is a weapon for the assault class.
The pedersen device is great, have used it a lot. I unlocked the Thompson and now I dont use it as much anymore since the Thompson is great. But a person could make a case that the Pedersen device is still really nice in a assault squad, its a great semi auto gun with 40 bullets and hella accurate. Great for closing the gap to a point.
Seems most of the golden guns are more novelty than anything. The only one that might be good even end game is the German MK36 but I’ve never used the new Beretta 38 yet
I played it a bunch, but as i now have the Lanchester, at similar time of unlocking the pederson device, I find it to be an extremely missmatched gun at this level, m2, lanchester/thompson, and bar are all automatic weapons which can single fire as needed, the pederson is more of a step backwards in general now.
had i had it at garand/carbine stage… that would have been a lot more engaging as a battlepass item.
The thompson is great by the way and really renders all the other US assault weapons obsolete. The lanchester is the only real competitor but even still I’d take the Thompson
As I said before, you are comparing it to weapons that you can not use on the class it is used by. When I had the lancasters I still used a pedersen in my assault squad. Its great for closing the gap.
Also to go into your point a bit deeper. The lmg guy is slower in that squad and the m2 has a too high recoil for effective single shot so the Pedersen is better in that place for me. So calling it extremely out of place is a bit over the top dont you think?
This all aside, the weapons are not meant to be insane op. They are meant as a novelty item. Which they are doing great.
I don’t disagree with your points, although my personal play style is I have become very effective with the M2 at mid range and prefer all my weapons to have auto attack, thats all beside the point as the moscow weapons aren’t even slightly the same, and the normandy german one is actually automatic.
The point is they don’t match late end game gear that they are unlocked beside.
had all of these guns come up earlier, they would have been useful, and truly enjoyable.
I wish i had bought the german gun on my off campaign as im only level 5 on that side, instead of my level 26 allied account.
Ye fair enough indeed, I had it the other way around I stared with the Germans and halfway US I unlocked Pederson. Probably we had different experiences that way. Right now im end game US and dont use it at all anymore.
Way less recoil tho on the Pederson and the sights are pretty nice. 40 rounds a mag but i saved silver weapon orders for a week and got 9 M1A1 Tompsons so i dont use it anymore.
The gold order guns are a joke, I haven’t even bothered using it. Should have had more choices and higher quality weapons seeing as you only get to buy one. I’d like a gold order sniper rifle with a better scope than standard and a faster bolt, or a semi auto sniper with bolt level scope and damage.
Silver weapon tokens are hard to get, i wouldnt use them on anything except upgrading tank parts (since thats the only way you can get them). I’m sitting on nearly 200 bronzes as i come close to level 29 so hopefully ill get a few :D.
