Yeah, huge missed opportunity, pretty much every shooter game does that. It would be so much better, to just unlock the capacity in the tree at a certain rank to use new mags, unstead of having to unlock the new gun again with just a different mag. Same could be said for guns with adjustable fire rate, or sniper rifles that were made with a variety of scopes (like the M1C and M1D Garand for example, both rifles could be equipped with a variety of scopes), or pretty much all other “accessories” or features that could be installed on a gun. But of course, there would be way less of these than on modern guns, because there is no picatinny rail, lol.
And yeah, the Lee Enfield sniper has an absolutely CURSED reload animation, the “mag” was never supposed to be removed, except maybe for maintenance. It wasn’t even really a mag, more like a “bullet holder” and nothing more. I have never even seen any experiments made by the british about a “mag-fed” Lee Enfield instead of the classic stripper clip reload. Man, the reload on the sniper Lee Enfield makes my eyes bleed…
Damn what game was it that had it now, I swear its a game that gets brought up on this forum so often too, I swear so many of us used to play it too… Villain’s and Private’s?
Giving Axis the nerfed version of Fedorov Avtomat as a very limited BP weapons, then claiming the weapon to be cracked and unbalanced is both funny and very concerning.
Anyway, Scotti Naval was designed as a light AA gun against low flying scout aircraft so it must have had a fairly large magazine.
I doubt that even the small magazine (in game) would have less than 25 rounds.
During the 1920-30s the Red Army was constantly holding trials and competitions for a semi-automatic rifle, guess some batches were also sent to the troops for evaluation.
But the first actually adopted SLR was AVS-36.
I really wish “this mag also existed” wasn’t the sole grounds of having guns in the tech tree.
AVT-40’s one and only standard issue magazine was the 10-round one.
Any other capacity was tested, deemed a failure, and cancelled.
The SVD-30 was at least way closer to an official adoption than the Fedorov 1912, which stayed a prototype as far as I know, because of these facts:
-a few hundreds were made and sent to a division
-some were spotted in a parade
-the japanese captured the sniper variant of this rifle
It wasn’t officially adopted, but this thing should have been added to the tree instead of the Fedorov 1912 in my opinion.
I would have been happier if devs added a prototype semi-auto rifle which is at the very least from the interwar period or WW2 not a pre-WW1 prototype that is completely out of place.
When are they going to give us back the tanks in the battle pass? Because honestly, there are too many skins and it’s not something I would pay a dollar for, honestly. At least they haven’t been so lax as to remove the planes, or will they take that away from us too?
