Battle of mamayev hill

When forces of the German Sixth Army launched their attack against the city centre of Stalingrad on 13 September 1942, Mamayev Kurgan (appearing in military maps as “Height 102.0”) saw particularly fierce fighting between the German attackers and the defending soldiers of the Soviet 62nd Army. Control of the hill became vitally important, as it offered control over the city. To defend it, the Soviets had built strong defensive lines on the slopes of the hill, composed of trenches, barbed-wire and minefields. The Germans pushed forward against the hill, taking heavy casualties.

On the same day, the Soviet 13th Guards Rifle Division commanded by Alexander Rodimtsev arrived in the city from the east side of the river Volga under heavy German artillery fire. The division’s 10,000 men immediately rushed into the battle. On 16 September they recaptured Mamayev Kurgan and kept fighting for the railway station, taking heavy losses. By the following day, almost all of them had died. The Soviets kept reinforcing their units in the city as fast as they could. The Germans assaulted up to twelve times a day, and the Soviets would respond with fierce counter-attacks.

The hill changed hands several times. By 27 September, the Germans again captured half of Mamayev Kurgan The Soviets held their own positions on the slopes of the hill, as the 284th Rifle Division defended the key stronghold. The defenders held out until 26 January 1943, when the counterattacking Soviet forces relieved them.

When the battle ended, the soil on the hill had been so thoroughly churned by shellfire and mixed with metal fragments that it contained between 500 and 1,250 splinters of metal per square meter.
The earth on the hill had remained black in the winter, as the snow kept melting in the many fires and explosions. In the following spring the hill would still remain black, as no grass grew on its scorched soil. The hill’s formerly steep slopes had become flattened in months of intense shelling and bombardment. Even today, it is possible to find fragments of bone and metal still buried deep throughout the hill.

seriously, this sounds like a perfect mission for enlisted, endless reinforcements trickling in and everyone spams weapons - at least one mission where historical accuracy will be achieved

Yes simply because it would be part of a Stalingrad campaing (or Moscow campaign upgrade, cuntinuation, something?) And it’s something I really NEED.

Edit: Also the RO2 map of the same name was utterly savage. Loved it.

If a stalingrad battle should make in to the game then there should be new troops with hungaryan , romanian and slovak guns and there should be a premium hungaryan tankdestroyer named Zrínyi or a hungaryan anti-aircraft wehicle that mostly used to destroy tanks is Nimród or a roman tankdestroyer ( the roman version of the marder 3)

Nope thaths if fall blue if they make stalingrad is moscow but with tiger and t34

as much as I’d love to see a Stalingrad campaign, i really doubt i’d be up for grinding the kar98k for the millionth time. idk.

I don’t think they will make it a fifth campaign of it. If I had to guess, they would probably expand on the Moscow campaign. How though? No idea… But what an amazing war theater it would be in Enlisted.

In the end of the 2022 all campaign are ended or almost ended (lv40) so if they have something to throw out for keep the game alive, we should have news of it in the coming months

I have a feeling the game is more lucrative than we thought. I think they will go further than the 4 campaigns, just don’t know in what way.

I completely forgot the modern warfare event… That’s indeed an idea they were exploring, weither it’d be for Enlisted or a completely new game! It’s quite possible remembering this.

I tried to tell people a year ago.

maybe they will add globe similar to war thunder’s world war thing, except that you can actually play it

Nah they release stalingrad with the same shit of moscow but with tiger/pz4fw2 and kv1/t34 and for the other completed campaign filler level wen you unlock captured weapon and veichle.

Ready for full german squad armed of ppsh41 and fg42II?

well, actually they should split stalingrad into more pieces, since tiger appeared lately… maybe restrict some missions with it?

oh my god
campagni 1) stalingrad (early)
campagni 2) stalingrad (late)
dont give them bad idea

like secondary objective
secondary objective: repair the tiger/kv1 in the factory

no, i meant, early missions, where tiger doesnt appear and late mission where it does, it is not a requirement to have it to join late missions, but if you spawn in an early one you will know that there are no tigers around

This mean mean if i have the tiger the tank slot is grey for me in early mission?
Well this cant happen because
Tiger=💰
