Sorry brother, it was in the alpha and still in the files. I hate it too but I assume it’ll be a thing.
Besides, I understand that the soviets used the Panzerfausts because they captured a lot of it. But not the Panzerschreck. It should stay with the Axis and the russians would get something else. As you said:
The Panzerfaust is largely enough.
Exactly my thoughts. It wouldn’t even be unbalanced if Soviets did not have the Shreck. In fact it could even advantage the faction if they came with something different. Because honestly, I will only switch my fausts in my ss squads, (NOT in my Volks, they must keep fausts) for the novelty of it. Faust already destroy any tank, even the first unlocked one…
I wonder what fun goody Soviet side could have instead, thought… We’re already at getting obscure prototypes to keep small arms advantage (as44 is coming, as stg44 must not be the best ar)…
Even H&G was more original with it’s ampulomet used like a pirate hand canon for AT
PTRD-45 with 1000 RPM and a 500 bullet mag.
Even ptrs would be funny, they did use those in Berlin. Nice tool to snipe HMG in truth.
I totally get that chief, and believe that I of all people want the game to go the more historical route. However I’m merely trying to find weapons that are at least unique enough and viable enough to contest the STG. A couple guys now have mentioned that the Devs may add another AS44 variant. I’m not sure what that would look like and how it would differ from the already included premium weapon, which is why I did not suggest it
I imagine this is the route that the devs will go. I reckon we’re gonna see the Tiger II with the production turret vs the IS-2 (1944) which I totally get. I personally just hope for a bit more variety, plus I’ve already got 2 Panzerjager squads for Berlin I’m hoping to don’t lock another to premium also
it honestly feels like the panzerschreck being added to berlin isn’t happening…
so my alternative idea is to add the panzerfaust 150
this would be ideal for AT gunner II, some were produced, some captured, however its questionable if it saw any combat, but that doesn’t matter, the STG45M never saw any combat but was still added.
Who cares?
St. Petersburg is Moscow-Stalingrad 3.0. Domt see the point of another Soviet campaign in the same freaking timeframes.
And still good enough to kill Panthers.
I hope I wouldn’t be the only one leaving the game if they do it.
Simple, in 3 steps:
- Remove both FG 42 variants from progression both for balancing reasons and because they weren’t used by the infantry
- Remove Avtomat Fyodorova from progression as it wasn’t used in Berlin
- Make the AVS-36 and AVT-40 assaulter weapons, or assaulter and engineer (that way of balancing assault/battle rifles is the single best feature of Stalingrad)
And it’s a win-win as it make the game better in both ways - more historical accuracy and less full auto spam.
I’d go further and say all select fire weapons should be machine gunner only, with the exception of the m2 carbine which should be assaulter only.
All specialist classes except for assaulter and machine gunner should be limited to bolt-actions and semi-auto rifles; including snipers.
I’m not entirely opposed to your suggestions. Infact there’s alot of validity to some of them however I don’t think realistically the devs will be removing or modifying content already in the game. Just based on their track record I think once something is added to those campaign trees it is there to stay.
Which is why I’ve been constantly bringing up a progression system rework. That would be the perfect opportunity to move some things around
The 150 makes more sense to me as a premium squad, honestly. Limited number, not that much more effective than the 100.
Then again, I also hope to see the Fliegerfaust added as a Gold Order weapon or something.
Like if devs ever cared
So you think the devs would be averse to using the schreck for progression and using the 150 for premiumbait?
