I just played a match in Berlin that gave me the following awards:
It’s nice! But… I don’t deserve them. I only got those awards because I made a lot of kills with the listed classes. My sniper made a lot of kills… got shot, I picked his gun (a mere g43 scoped mind you) with my At guy, made a lot of kills, got shot, picked the same g43 with my radioman… and did a lot of kills.
SPECIALIST class awards should NOT be awarded the the one making the most kills with it (unless the class is assaulter or mg gunner, it’s their roles)
Instead the awards should be given for usefulness in the specific role, such as:
- engineer: (most important) ENGI POINTS!!! not kills
- sniper: long range kills? spotting? assists?
- AT guy: number of tanks destroyed
- firebug: most kills BY FLAMETHROWER…
- infantryman: mix of capping points, support assists and kills?
Those are EXAMPLES, I don’t mean they should necessarily be this, just that class rewards could be given for something other than kills.
I feel doing so would incentive players to… play the class they select correctly. An engineer builds. an AT guy hunt tanks, etc. Right now what is rewarded is simply the most kills, which doesn’t make sense for some classes (other than assaulters and lmg guys)
