I would expect to blow away any barbed wire with one det pack - but they sometimes survive multiple, the damage system seems to be weird with those, anyone else experiencing this? didnt used to be the case.
Im having similar issues as well, Im not sure if its deliberate or not, but I find it very annoying.
well sometimes, those blow up in one go, but I guess half the time they take multiple packs, it must be some damage inconsistency right?
Bugged hit box?
It may be worth experimenting with it see where the det pack needs to be to destroy the barbed wire.
Maybe they should allow , AT guns and launchers to destroy the sandbags and barbwire in one shot and Czech hedgehog in two shot that way barbed wires and fortification in general wouldn’t be a hassle to deal with
everything that goes “boom” can destroy cover I guess, heck I can one hit kill trees with most tank guns, sandbags seem to need multiple hits.
in real life while it would destroy the wood poles holding it up the wire itself would remain unharmed, its why they invented the Bangalore torpedo a shaped charge to cut the wire. explosives work by a chemical reaction that displaces air the same way sound works. explosives would just move around wire the same way water moves around a hull or air around a wing. as for check hedgehogs also no hitting any of the arms would not destroy it. you would either create a notch or at best knock of an arm. hitting the center might destroy it but would be a hard shot. sandbags are also harder to destroy like destroying a pile of Jello cubes with marbles.
you destroy a plane or tank not by tearing it apart but hitting the vitals inside. killing crew, detonating ammo setting fuel on fire. buildings are destroyed because they have a void. so knocking out walls is easy. sandbags, barb wire and hedgehogs have no vitals or voids they are simple structures. you can do damage but not easily destroy them as you would more knock over a sandbag wall then destroy it.
rant over but lag delay graphics exec you may not be actually hitting the object. this an online game so yeah. also being a hassle is their function like mines you have to take time to destroy them time under fire. imagine the poor sod/ player who had to lay them under fire.
hm hm, so maybe some sort of breaching device could be an interesting addition to the game - or well, just making barbed wire magically get destroyed easier isnt that crazy of an “inaccuracy”
I think ATRs already do OHK sandbags.
One of the few reasons to take them to high BR.
what really?
i think a health or erosion bar, that is depending on how they are hit you might do more or less damage, like dead center hit good damage while near little damage.
Edit: I tested it on testing ground with PTRS/ PTRD and the Type 97.
Type 97 takes reliably 2HK, PTR rifles two to three hits.
My take on my different assessment on battlefield could be based on what Krieger says about HP, maybe they dropped enough in terms of HP to make it “OHK”.
I have to say @Kriegerfaust007 is absolutely correct: It is not so easy to actually blow up and destroy barbed wire. Just think about the really massive artillery bombardments that battlefields during WW1 were subjected to - all destroyed, craters everywhere, only thing really left “standing” was barbed wire (so the soldiers had to crawl up and cut it by hand). You can destroy/damage the anchoring poles and nudge the wire of its position, but the wire itself would be left relatively unharmed (depending of course on where it is hit, might get cut here and there but it would not just vanish but largely remain intact).
Realism does not apply much in Enlisted though.
True, If a player can “build” barbed wire by hammering the air for 3 seconds than a single detpack can destroy it.
Especially considering that AI is too stupid to deal with player build obstacles - it needs to be easy to destroy
You have a point there (on the other hand, I would rather opt for a more immersive building system, where you can NOT build things out of thin air, but would need to bring materials with you to actually construct something, like for example with a truck, a wheelbarrow,… - …but this is a flaw that many games suffer from unfortunately)
However afty should have significantly reduced wire damage
