I believe that the BR5 Allies are not strong enough. There is no weapon for an intermediate cartridge. There is no good automatic rifle for a rifle cartridge.
Do you think this is a good suggestion?

Transferring the BAR M1918A2 or M1918 to the assault rifle class. Give it 5 BR. I think we need to reduce his damage to 11. Remove the machine gun debuffs.
No matter how strange it may look, there is an analogue for 5 BR, this is a Fedorov Avtomat, it has a lower ROF, but 5 more bullets.
-
Or transfer it to the automatic rifle class. it will be like FG42.
-
It may be possible to transfer the M2 carbine to the assault rifle class.
-
And instead of the M2 carbine in the class of automatic rifles, give the M1941 Johnson Machine gun, it will be an analogue of the Fg 42-2. Remove the buff on his ROF. it will still be higher by 70 but further, Fg 42/Fg 42-2 will give bayonet knives and automatic firing by default. (a bonus to do so for ABC 36)

The T20 rifle or W.A.R. the Winchester Automatic Rifle, instead of all this, will also be a great option.
This is a translation of the topic from the Russian forum. I apologize for the mistakes.

It would actually make a ton of sense for the vanilla BAR to be Assault class, whilst the bipod BARs are Machine Gunner.

I would rather have new weapons than changing the current ones… Moving BAR and/or M2C to assaulter would messed up with a lot of people playing USA, I don’t want to have to repay for all the weapons, especially if there is a limit to assault squads.
Many people have suggested the M1944 Hyde (or even some Commonwealth odd looking weapons) as a potential assault rifle while a T20 rifle variant would fit in the tech tree.

It’s easier to do this than to add a new one. Moreover, there is almost nothing to add. I also want to preserve authenticity, at least a little.

This was suggested so many times I wonder why people are still trying.

That’s the point. to talk and not to be silent.

Locations and Missions
- Our approach to balancing game missions has been changed. Now the “capture time” of the same type of points will not differ in all missions. Points located in the open will be captured slightly faster, but they will also be identical to each other in all missions. In the future, we will not balance missions with the speed of capturing points.
We talked about it and it’s gone.
And how will the Allies play without this “Unique Balance”? The question is rhetorical.
The Axis is not online enough. But the Axis is still strong and it will hit the Allies very hard. Again.
I would like to see actual battle rifles or AR added to USA for ARs I think Hyde M1944 and EPK machine gun and for Battle Rifles I would like to see Bendix-Hyde Carbine or other stuff here is the thing while Germans in later stages of war didn’t make a lot of prototypes, western allies were poping prototypes left and right and we can find a lot of Battle rifles and AResk guns so IMHM Bar should stay as LMG but that’s just my mind
This one’s a gold order so that’s a no
This could be possible though due to different variants

I still advocate for this, honestly.
Along with swapping the M2C to assaulters;
and feds to the automatic rifle slot (with the appropriate ammo and recoil adjustments)

This is absolute nonsense.
The BAR weights almost 10kg while the FG 42 4.2-5kg. The Fedorov is 4.4kg. No one is using the BAR as an assault rifle.
The guy looks about ready to die after each short round

Just add the Hyde 44 for BR 5 U.S Assaulters
(Sorry for deleting multiple replies, I have to keep editing the post to make this embed work so I just ended up uploading it directly instead.)

Allies is fine, The Thompson with 50 round mag vs STG is the same thing as the PPSH 41 vs the STG, no one is saying that the PPSH can’t fight German AR’s and yet we are saying the Thompson is inferior? The M2C being a weapon for any class with rifleman weapons is a good decision because it is a different playstyle compared to using a semi rifle that was given a different mag and another firing mode
So why was this added to the Soviets?

I was just saying I wanted an option with better muzzle velocity, the ppsh41 isn’t the best option but it’s muzzle velocity still almost 2x more than the thompsons. I quite enjoy the Thompson SMG’s, but if br 5 keeps throwing ardennes at me I want something that can better maintain damage at a bit more range. The STG 44 has 690 m/s

50 round Thompson with drum mag is 15 pounds, yet that’s still assault.
It’s a game, BAR with 20 rounds and being under 20 pounds with no bipod, I’d say It’s fair game for assault.

In reality the large drums seem to have been quickly shipped back due to “excessive weight” lol
Also, the BAR is almost half as long as the Thompson, with a long, HEAVY barrel. Shouldering it while standing will exhaust anyone rather quickly. The large mag on the Thompson is between your grip points instead, so while it sucks, it’s not like you have to also fight the torque of 1.2m long gun
Also, it’s excessive length makes it a rather poor choice for assault-type troops
Personally I find all Thompsons cringe and unusable.
Hell let loose also designates BAR for support, not MG, which is considered infantry in the game.
Same with the STG 44 on Hell Let Loose, and that’s assault on Enlisted. Make BAR no bipod assault.

No. I prefer that weapon classes stay distinct.
Yes the BAR is an automatic rifle but the A2 was designed specifically for the squad support role so I think it should stay in the MG class.
I have said they could make the original BAR and a field modified A2 into automatic rifles, but then automatic rifles are a whole other debate.
This should and will be added to the game eventually, but why would it be for Assaulters. If we go by the game’s current handling of weapon types it’s basically like an M2 carbine which is a Riflemen weapon because technically carbines are treated as rifles
