We can see so often Players which just stomp the whole Enemy Team.
One Team where Every Player end with 250-1000 Points
While the other one : Everyone 1000-4000 Points ( or sometimes Players which end with 5000-8000 Points ).
1: Remove the “group up with Friends” thing. So tryhards cant group up with others ( so the Matchmaking will be random ).
2: Matchmaking based on the Player SCORE - and not on their Level.
Because high Lvl = doesnt mean that this Players are good / pros or tryhards.
So maybe : 0-2000 Points / 2001 - 4000 / 4000 - unlimited
When a Player end 3 Matches in a row with more then 2000 Points > then he will land in the other Zone.
This, Friends are for weak and for such weakness you should be judged in harshest way possible.
And if your having FUN with friends thats even worse. Absolutely disgusting.
level / score most of time goes hand in hand, some exceptions here and there.
Tho, I agree completely new players shouldnt be thrown against end game players. But I doubt the playerbase is that big → Resulting months long que times in matchmake.
why can’t i play with my friends and have a coordinated match with them?
You see, i can somewhat agree to this,
but the problem is, ( not to brag let’s make it clear ) but i usually " land " on the first 3 " places ", maybe it’s because the team is made full of bots, or maybe i am somewhat good at this game, but the point is, why should i sacrifice my fun just to end up against people that are fully tired up with 1 shot machineguns and such? just because according to your suggestion, i usually make a good score?
why do i have to " try hard " in order to play and somewhat win? because winning brings more xp. weather i honestly don’t care about winning or loosing because it’s a game, others do.
this system can only " work " for people that in this scenario, do not scores many points. therefore, the gameplay for them it’s a bit quiet. due to not everyone being familiar with the title, or taking things slowly in differents regards ( which it’s totally fair. i don’t blain anyone. and for sure, there should be a new comer matchmaker or something like that.)
and i do agree that lvl based per campaign do not define your skills.
1: NO. Playing with friends is one of the major reasons, why people even start playing this game. It’s great for recruitment. One person discovers the game, wants to play with their mates and so you get 4 new players instead of just one.
The way to solve this problem, is to have a separate queue for grouped players or to have the matchmaker weigh them differently, so every team ends up having the same amount of grouped players.
2: NO. Why is it so unbearable for some people to be matched against better players? That should be considered normal. It’s how you learn. When I get beaten, I want it to happen because my opponent was more skilled and not because they have been grinding levels for longer than me.
Anyone who complains about tryhards just needs to git gud.
Here are a lot Players which work - come home and then just play some Rounds to relax and invest $ in this Game. ( so just casual Players which play for fun )
Its not fun for them and its like a kick in the Ass - when they are forced then to fight vs tryhards which end with 8000 Score or something like that.
A lot Players will stop investing $ then and switch to another Game.
Why is it so unbearable for some people to be matched against better players? You dont understand what i mean -.-. Better Players Ok - but not extreme unfair Battles.
Where 2-4 Players in the Enemy Team stomp alone the others and their Teammates can just relax and watch the Battle.
Here are a lot Battles like that.
And its really not fun.
The Devs want Money? Then must the Game 1 : fun for EVERYONE - and getting stomped is not fun.
And 2: Make the Game fair.
And based on the Level is not fair and a kick in the Ass for People who invest $ ( because a lot unlocked Levels with real Money - just because they want play as their favorite Class / Units )
It’s fairly easy to detect very good players and in 70% of matches put them against same quality players. If playerbase allows, of course.
Or to put plane-only bomber dudes into matches where ground forces are bots only, for them it really would not matter.
I don’t think you know the meaning of the word ‘fair’. Just because you’re not having fun, doesn’t mean it’s unfair. Unfun =/= unfair. Equality of opportunity, i.e. everyone having access to the same tools is fair. You want an equality of outcome. Everyone having the same chances of success so everyone can have the same amount of fun. You want to punish good players for being good. That is not fair.
Also, you spending money on the game doesn’t give you any priviliges. You get exactly what you pay for and nothing more. If you want a Pay 2 Win game, well, there are plenty of those already. You can go be a whale elsewhere.
It would be, if that was actually the case. If you’d pay attention in the game, you would notice the wide range of levels between players. The devs ARE thinking with their wallets. Level based MM doesn’t exist. I don’t know where you got that idea.
While unfair ≠ unfun, there are matches both unfair and unfun. When your 10 teammates are fighting against 5 players and 5 bots (bad ones), it is boring on your side, outright frustrating on the other, and rather unfair.
That’s a bad idea as told by others, teamplay should be at the core of this kind of military games, and the uncommon times you see it working on one side should be the normal case. But once devs can focus on matchmaking, they should (and maybe they do) take into consideration the player and team-of-friends performance. But matchmaking performance depends on number of available players on match start.
I don’t like the idea of being protected from better players. Also if they do it so, they should focus on recent scores. I perform very differently when tired and when in top shape for example, ending up #9 vs. #3 in an average team.
Good and bad players should play together, so me building rally points while others flying their planes and getting 150 kills is OK for me if they are teammates. But it would be important not to put 5 casual players against 10 players out of 4 playing together as friends and ending the match in 5 minutes.
So attempt to reach team level balance - yes, same level players - no, differentiation during matchmaking between paying and free-to-play players - no.
This is true and a reasonable complaint. But the suggestion Oberst gave is totally overblown.
He wants a system, where good and bad players never get in the same matches with one another. Hence my somewhat heated response.
Of course one could have a more mild MM, where it just makes sure, that both teams have an equal amount of good and bad players. Seems sensible on the surface, but there are downsides.
First of all, I don’t think that bad players would actually have more fun. They would be almost guarenteed to be facing dastardly tryhards in every match. The tryhards on their own team will outperform them heavily and “steal” all their kills. It will also make all matches pretty samey. No more quick curb-stomp battles, only a monotony of close matches (those are my favourites now but I don’t want them all the time).
The only MM I want, is one that puts equal amounts of grouped players on both teams, because they (potentially) have an actual advantage over others.
