B29 Superfortress Bomber is a MUST for Allies in Normandy

The B29 typically had a 10-14 man crew but in-game could have a 5 man crew to rival the Axis 5 man bomber already in game. Currently the Allies have no answer to the German 5 man bomber and i think a b29 with a big crew would be such a wicked addition to the battlefield. Possibly give the in-game plane a 10 man crew like real life but make it very very slow turning or slow moving to compensate so its not OP. Imagine fighting infantry while in the background you see a B29 chugging along taking AA fire from multiple angles trailing smoke lighting up all its guns in a dog fight refusing to go down before dropping its payload on the German position scraping the tree tops as they tear past on their crash course. Lets make it happen

Glorious description, but the B29 is definitely NOT suitable for this game. Save maybe for a late Pacific campaign gimmick as AI bomber.

@Conscript_Joe we found another successor candidate

Yeah no absolutely no. A 26 invader could work.

Did B-29s even see any WWII action outside of the Pacific? Not that I’m aware of.

B29 Is a massive plane for Enlisted. You would be taken down in no time while you can barely turn with its bomb load. A-26 or B17E perhaps? Idk we’ll see what devs are planning

B25_Mitchell_-Chino_Airshow_2014(14033501440)
for bombardier calls us radio would be perfect for Normandie us

devs actually have plans to introduce them just for that role.

i have one in my editor mission.

why is this relevant?

because the model it’s in the game.
and it’s also considered an AI:

( don’t consider the dead_entity or the fire. i just made it for scenic as i don’t know how to make those ai work. but yeah. it’s pretty much in the game  )

here is the info on the plane that is already in play

well. close enough.

although looks like they are gonna use it for bomb runs

ok

this plane was so unreliable that they quickly changed the role of the plane and replaced it with a real bomber plane

that the North American B-25 Mitchell was better armoured and armed to defend against aircraft and could have more bombs
The RAF received nearly 900 Mitchells, using them to replace [Douglas bombers. The Mitchell entered active RAF service on 22 January 1943. At first, it was used to bomb targets in occupied Europe. After the Normandy, the RAF and France used Mitchells in support of the Allies in Europe. Several squadrons moved to forward airbases on the continent. The USAAF used the B-25 in combat in the European theater of operations

well, i’m afraid history didn’t affected df and gaijin before in doing something, so most likely will still remain the B34.

has the same code of the stalingrad bombers and features.

so… yep.

bomber b34 it is :joy:

Too bad he won’t have time to get his bombs wide and he’ll already be dead

i mean…

bombers are scripted anyway.

so it’s more or like of a skin more than performance.

ok

one prototype was in europe with the purpose to scare the germans

Meh, I don’t know much about planes, so I abstain with opinions about them, most of the time.

But the guy isn’t annoying like some particular retard with ps5 issues repeatedly posting about it everyday so… Give him the benefit of the doubt 🤷
