Axis in Tunisia, we need to talk part 2, Console Boogaloo

Good evening forum,

about a week or so ago I posted about just how fucking BAD axis is doing in Tunisia.

I’m back to update that despite a slight uptick in Axis skill level over a weekend that things are still bad.

As Allies we’re just constantly rolling over them, again, this is a huge difference from Moscow. I don’t know what gives. Y’all are either giving up on points too easily on defense and doing nothing but camping with no pushing on offense.

Out of about 8 games this evening all but the last was a steam roll, with the Axis only barely winning on Gorge (Destruction) by fortifying the fuck out of the point (which should always be done? why in the world wouldn’t you fortify the objectives? ) and camping their two tanks inside the final building (larger one across the bridge).

In fact, the Axis tanks carried the Axis team that round, albeit via camping from gray zones and parking the tanks inside the final building once we reached around 35 tickets.

Axis players seem to be getting high kill counts but that’s about it. No wins, no objective play, nada

aside from just hoards of early disconnects once they tend to lose the first set of objectives before we’ve got below 950 tickets the only other thing I can point out is that Axis just has alot of console players on average compared to Allies? Some times it’s up to half the team.

Scoreboard for reference

It’s pretty normal for me to be in the top 3/4, often in spot 1 or 2, even on Moscow, but in Tunisia it just seems to require significantly less effort. I’m medically retired with just a part time job and classes so i tend to play at prime gamer hours.

So Axis, sit down, are you ok? how’s your home life? Do you need to talk to your primary care doctor about therapy?

I guess Axis suffers here, because they have a smaller playerbase, filled with bad players. Also Tunis as a campaign just feels unfinished and boring. Maps are just horrible imo, like you have to run 200m on open spaces between two objectives, so you could fight CQC for the point with the 2 people that left from your squad, it’s just frustrating. I got Berlin, Normandy maxed, but no way I’m gonna start grinding Axis, cause I’m not gonna deal with bad maps, players, engineers at lvl 9 just so I could unlock some poorly designed Italian squads and the same german guns from other campaigns.

And this too shall pass.
It’s all about the players on a given team and that shifts like the sands in a desert.
Give it a month, and the bot squads might be predominately on the other side.

130-200 m spawn from CP is quite normal for other campaign aswell.
The problem is noone built a f*cking rally because dev have a bright idea about putting engineer in level 9

Thats not only in tunisia. Noticed same thing in berlin, mayby not bad as in tunisia.

Cap zones are basicly handed to enemy and people just camp near enemy spawns

Engineer… might it solve this problem?

Personaly i think there is more people at axis side that dont kinda understand core mechanics of game like capture/defend objective

Ran into a couple of matches where I was scratching my head because I didn’t know what the fuck the axis players were doing. Had a match where I was defending and the enemy team didn’t want to leave the spawn and attack the objective, like they were just camping the buildings and would not leave to attack the objective. It got to the point I asked in chat “they do know they are attacking right?.” This was a full team too, with about 250 tickets left, 6 players outright quit the match, so it isn’t like they only had 2 or 3 real people playing at the start.
I have been playing pretty much every campaign and I have had some fantastic matches on Berlin, Moscow, and Normandy, but Tunisia they seem to happen far less frequently.

I came from Moscow before Tunisia, your theory doesn’t hold there.

As I stated in part 1 Moscow is likely the most balanced campaign in the game. Matches are regularly won/lost on the final tickets/seconds in the round. The teams aren’t identical in capabilities but there’s absolutely a kind of asymmetrical balance and without a doubt equivalent skill across Axis and Soviets.

the “it is what it is” mentality is just an excuse for the devs to ignore what is obviously some kind of issue in Tunisia.

My opinion is that it’s a player base issue because for some reason Axis aren’t playing the objective/utilizing in game mechanics on a repeatable basis.

And thats why its really hard to fix.

Punish side who actually plays objective isnt really good solution.

But devs already did this in berlin so…

the maps are a mix of the attackers get all the cover and the defenders dont get any or the attackers get no cover and the defenders get all the cover from what i have seen

You are all over the place….1st you blame the devs……then you state that it’s a playerbase issue.
Pick one

I’m sure all the bad axis players will simply continue to blame the equipment and say nerf allies, allies op.

I play axis as I like a challenge, usually in top 1-3, but sometimes allies are too well dug in, using mg nest from overlooking points (nice play!), Wiping out hundreds literally of advancing troops, pill box positions I cap point behind still works!
We do win, if I mortar snipers, at gun tanks in grey zones or hills, but it’s a hard fight.
I am now level 18 axis, nearly got Semo, but has to be said armaguerras turned it around for me, but FW don’t get me started, JU87 has no gunner (yet!) And rest of line up is meh, unexciting tbh

I bought the premiums, event stuff is in other campaigns, so tempted to go back to Normandy (max axis) and play allied, play with my new toys, but I slogged Normandy non stop to get panther and wanted a change.

Not sure I agree about the maps, tactics yes, but maps are fine, I think people don’t realize tank on hill spot it and mortar it, set up at guns, ignore and build RPs behind it so the awake players help advance and cap point.

Lastly I don’t like destruction, I have had one or two tense fights on those maps, but most the time, they are frustrating or you have too many bunny hopping, tryhards with stens on other team.

I think the maps are lovely, I think it is tactics that players are not used to which makes Tunisia less enjoyable.

My favourite was Moscow, I’m considering going back, not sure I want to get past Semo on axis, was tough grind!

I made this just for threads like this,

I think you need a break from the game, you’re obviously cranky.

I don’t get what youre saying in relation to the picture you posted. From what I see the teams looked pretty even, with Axis team claiming many medals… and WINNING the match?

If Tunisia is now like this, I don’t really see any problems anymore?

I concede Axis suffers more console players than allies for a reason unknown however. When their team has about half lil controllers icons, it’s best just to quit the match straight away as axis, and perhaps even as allies if you feel stomping your opponent is boring.

We just need an incentive for balancing the team compositions.

I swear the solution for that would be as easy as “if you start a match with the choose any team box ticket on, you get +25% for the match”.

Heck I’m sure even +10% would work.

I’d dig bonus 25%, even with my loathe to play axis

It just seems like the best option of them all. Not only that but it would also solve a bit of the problem those requesting a mm have. Teams being mostly random would usually negate one side being stronger.

Thank you for pointing that out,

The whole point of the scoreboard is show what it can look like when Axis gets it’s shit together. This is what a balanced match looks like and it’s such a rarity I had to get the screen shot
