Axis Extreme Lose Rate

I’ve been playing this game since around Christmas and I enjoyed it. So far.

Before I get into my point, here’s a small disclaimer:
Right now I play all fractions as BR II and plan to stick to BR II until I farm enough gear to be able to be competitive in BR V OR hopefully the developers do something about the BR brackets. And it’s safe to say I play pretty good , I play objective-oriented and know the concepts of the game very well.
That being said, here are my thoughts and mainly concerns.

I started playing as Allies and it was kind of balanced.
When I went into the BR III bracket it got hard which is understandable, considering BR III competes with BR IV and BR V (which is insane itself). So I downtiered to BR II but decided to try out another nation about that time.

I moved to Soviets. I completely stomped everything. Almost no losses.

Now, when I started playing Axis it got out of hand. I lose maybe 7 -8/10 games.
If I have to win it is because I’m facing BR I or I have some vets in my team and everytime I try hard beyond imagination. It is insanely hard to get even remotely close to a victory and I almost end up in top 3, usually 1st place with the second player behind me having 2x or 3x less points and kills.

I can say I was a noobie when playing US but have the same experience and playstyle playing both as Soviets and Axis. However, my experience is awful as Axis. My win rate is 62% compared to 87.5% as Soviets.

In addition, it’s pointless to say the Axis tech tree is stuffed with weapons which don’t even make that much of a difference but in order to pass on I have to grind like crazy. It’s hard enough to farm a single weapon which costs 170,000 points, now when I have to grind 5 of them just to get a next level squad or some sort of a difference in playing it gets too frustrating.
All of this has to be done by only losing.

I’m simply not enjoying the game anymore AT ALL and continue playing out of dedication but I can feel my exhaustion in this taking prevail.

I am sure I am not the only one and I’ve read a lot of comments around the web with people experiencing what I am. I really hope this reaches the right people and they fix this.

I play Germany 99% of the time because I’m BRV and I enjoy their weapons. I lose probably 50% or more of my matches. Some days I win many in a row. Some I lose many in a row. It’s just the nature of multiplayer games.

That said, sometimes I do get put into very lopsided lobbies, which make for a terrible experience. I usually leave those games and immediately hop in another one. Most times, that gets me into a better lobby.

I have a couple questions for you @YalokinVeili:
On the US and Soviet games, were you most frequently on offense?

When you were on the German side, were you predominately on defense?

Have you tried playing as the Japanese?

My overall point is that are you losing due to equipment do you think, or because of the circumstances that you are put in?
Do you find that you lose more frequently when on defense? (or alternatively do you win frequently as offense?)

For comparison, here is my W/L ratio. You’re looking pretty good.
I only played Normandy pre-merge, which is why I never play Japan or USSR now.

I just played 3 matches this early morning, (10am EST) each of the matches were an absolute wash and I quit the last match because it became so boring being spawn killed and kept at spawn by greyzone tanks and Jumbos.

I play primarily as BRV Axis and some days I have some great games, most days I have good games with lots of fun but I lose, and then I have terrible games where it’s a loss no matter what.

Today I had three games where I was 1st place and the rest of my team was so far behind me I literally didn’t understand if I was playing with bots or players, until I saw that they had the little console and pc icons. I was dumbfounded that my team was so lackluster and incapable of performing any defensive or offensive capabilities.

Played Normandy 2 times and Berlin 1 time.

Playing as BRV Germany means you either can have BRIII players on your team against BRV Soviets or BRV Allie’s. While BRV Allie’s only can play against BRV Axis, BRV Axis is split into two “campaigns” and that’s Berlin, Normandy and now also Battle of the Bulge (BoB) is basically an extension of Normandy (imo).

So while BRV Axis may have a game or two where 90% of players have BRV equipment, it’s most commonly a match like this:

30%BRV.
30%BRIV.
40%BRIII.

I got these percentages by looking at the players in the game and what equipment they used in the replays. Granted that’s not an official percentage but it’s very accurate to why I keep getting stomped every game. Wasting my time trying to defend while we get pushed back to the 3rd objective while I still and just now retreating from the 1st objective. lol.

At this point I’m just going to play for kills and play for fun again because it’s pointless trying to compete to win matches. I also can’t rank up in the ranking system because I lose so many matches that when I progress to 54, I go back down to 50 and then if I quit, back to 49 I go. lol.

You have no players on your team

i swear the german player just left like 2 hour ago since they were literally winning and now they all gone dont know why tbh if they just gonna come back for 2 hour just to disappear again

so im just gonna go back to soviet after all if they are just gonna leave after dominating for 2 hour why bother

Vehicles can be a problem
Cougar can help you destroy all enemy tanks
But you also need an aircraft to cooperate in destroying those infantry and aircraft.
My suggestion is to spend money
This way you can gain more initiative

you’re right
The German development tree has too many unimportant projects
Even if I have 5000 experience, I still have to spend more than 20 games developing equipment that has no obvious use.

the most important point
Level 3 is a threshold
He makes you happy in a low-level environment
and allow you to survive in high-level environments

Maybe not everyone enjoy pass their time in killing bot sry
Maybe if someone whine is bc there are problem that are more important than adding another map that nobody asked about or another woderwaffen AK45/6.5

I play roughly the same as all fractions - mostly offensive. Of course this depends wether we play Invasion/Conquest/Assault etc.

The circumstances are all the same and this is what bothers me. My equipment is roughly the same. At this stage all soldiers are maxed 5* with the best perks and best weapons for BR II, all upgraded to the last upgrade, including the vehicles (APC, tank and plane).

I want to leave the Japs for desert after I maxed out the rest nations but I am not sure I will stick around until then.

I understand your pain I also started grinding my German leftovers and the first match I played I couldn’t believe my team didn’t do anything anyways here’s an advice play with friends at least then you don’t have to be the only one who tries and can actually win I played with friends Tunisia Axis when allies were still dominant and got 80 somthing percent WR and BTW don’t care about WR just try to enjoy games and if you are trying to min max XP you gain you might want to leave games that are completely rofstomps

It is very normal to lose even if you put in all your efforts to drag your teammates to win, and the same goes for BR5. Even if you are skilled you cannot win the game with a group of fools.

Most players now know that PPS43 has great dominance in BR2, so many skilled Soviet players will also come to BR2. This is why Soviet BR2 is easy to win, and after merge, most Axis players have defected to Allies, so there are hardly any good players left.

Here is my 5 cents to this topic.

I play a little bit of 3 nations,

Japan 47 matches: Stopped playing at start br2, since allies just steamrolls japan with no contest 80% to 90% of the time.

Axis 200+ matches: I like the weapons of the axis at br 2, havent progressed to br 3+ so cant tell how the weapons/matches are at high br, since it takes ages for a free to play and almost constant losses. Though not as bad as japan here it is “only” 70% to 80% of the time you get steamrolled.

Allies 100+ matches: I mostly stopped playing after reaching mid br2 and only play em when i get one of thoose “win 3 matches” daily missions, since Allies maybe lose 1 to max 2 out of 10 matches, and it is booooooring to win with no contest 80 to 90% of the time, they just steamroll axis and japan at lower br.

Russia 100+ matches: 40% of the time they steamroll axis, and 40% of the time they actually have to fight for the win, an 20% they lose, so it is fun to play some of the time, br2 getting closer to br3.

If they are to fix it in my opinion they need to rework BR rating,
either 1/2- 2/3 - 3/4 - 4/5
or the easier fix 1/2 - 3 - 4/5.Then br 3 cant complain about getting uptiered.

I watched your three recent RPs,
I noticed that you have many advantages,
For example, build rally points, mines, and mark enemy troops. These greatly improve your combat level.

But there is still a long way to go before the top players.

  1. Your combat shooting is probably B-level, mainly because of the gun.
It is recommended to get the MP40 as soon as possible. It is much easier to use than the M1918, or use the MP34 or Beretta M38 instead for the time being.
  2. There is a lot of room for improvement in your combat positioning. For this recommendation, you can check out JustGameplay_YT.
If you only fight players below level B, there will be no problem, but if you encounter players above level A, you will continue to die while walking.
This also includes the defensive and offensive positions when occupying a stronghold. S-level players can use one soldier to slaughter dozens of enemies in the stronghold without you discovering him.
  3. There is a lot of room for improvement in your tank positioning and timing of using HE.
If the tank directly enters the open area, it will only cause instant death when facing A-level and above players.
The correct approach is to use terrain and soldier cover to prevent air strikes or anti-tank weapons.
An S-level player’s tank can do this, you can’t see him, but he keeps massacring your troops.
  4. Your fighter plane drops bombs too slowly and the bombs fall behind the target. Please change the bombing angle or drop the bombs earlier. IAR-81C is one of the most powerful aircraft in BR 2, it can easily destroy any tank, only the Soviet P40-E-1 can surpass it.
  5. Your army only has 4 soldiers, which is too few, which greatly reduces your strength in battle.

It is recommended not to leave the game at will. Only disadvantaged battles can test you and make you grow.
Advantage combat means nothing to the player. It just wastes your time and even makes you get used to the wrong way of fighting.

When I was a new player, I loved going to Europe to challenge the Germans on Hell difficulty.
Go to North America to challenge the nightmare-level Berlin Soviet Union.

This taught me how to turn the tide of battle when I was at an extreme disadvantage.

Soviets are recently overpopulated at BR V. I must wait over one minute to join a match.

Waste of time :-1:

Thank you a lot for taking the time to give me such constructive feedback. I really appreciate it.
For the most part I agree with the analysis but with some bits I slightly disagree. You somehow handpicked my replays where I was on my worst behavior.

Based on what you said about the tank, plane and choise of gun I am almost certain you watched my games in Hürtgen Forest, Gogol Street and La Perelle Village. The first two because of the tank and La Perelle because of the plane.

  1. I usually use MP40 on all my assaulters and driver but on that day I decided to try a weapon with higher rate of fire so that’s why you see me using M1918. It goes without saying it takes some practice to get used to a new weapon and I made a clear example of that.

  2. When I’m not playing I like to watch youtubers gameplay and I usually look at vids from ParaDivision (hands down best beginner tips), HeyQuadro and Admiral Starks. These three dudes make it more fun to watch because of the commentary. This way it’s both amusing and educational. Nonetheless, I constantly strive to improve so I will definitely start watching JustGameplay_YT.
By what I’ve seen he is playing in BR III - BR V bracket with the latest weapons and premium squads which are much more capable that what I currently have but the positioning as an Axis player is something I need to work on.

  3. In general I don’t play tank much and I fill in when we don’t have any on our side and the other team does to balance it out. I am almost certain you watched my games in Hürtgen Forest and Gogol Street where I just wanted to go loco and went in with my tank right into the points in both games. I know tanks are meant to be far away well hidden behind the front line and be played sort of as a HE sniper.

  4. You must be talking about my La Perelle Village South where I absolutely sucked and if I’m not mistaking I missed 2 bombing runs in a row. I usually tend to perform much, much better. While playing Soviet i played mainly Yak-1 and P40-E-1 (no tank squads) and now I’m getting used to IAR-81C again.

  5. Right not I’m grinding the latest squads available in the tech tree and leveling up my soldiers so I constantly have 1 or 2 squads with 4 or 5 players. At this stage I don’t always play squads which are best for the situation but squads which need leveling so this drags me back a lot.

As of the leaving, I really don’t like doing it but I do it in games where I can’t have a constructive game.
When my team is consisted only of new players which are scattered around the map, don’t build a single rally I can’t improve because I end up surrounded, facing 2-3 average/good players which know what to do. I can wipe out a huge chunk of the enemy forces but at one stage I can’t single-handedly build rally points/fortifications, take out the enemy tanks, take the objective and clear out the enemy pilots all at once. After all, it is a team game and I can single-handedly carry a game up to a certain point.
I don’t leave just battles where we are losing. On the contrary, I stick around but only if the forces are sort of balanced and the game comes down to a match of skill, not basics.

I am trying to get out of this “low-elo” hell where Axis is crowded with brand new players who blindly walk around just shooting at enemy forces. Right now I am looking for games with equal amounts of high-end B to low-end A players on both sides but it is a very rare event.
As @洁草闻啼 pointed out in the comments above, a big portion of skilled players maxed out their Axis tree and now grind Soviets and Americans. On the other side, new players are more drawn to start with Axis and this creates a disbalance and I hope once Enlisted goes on Steam this will change.

I know I am missing a lot and need to improve in many areas but I find it hard to do so by playing against a several players on my skill level while I don’t have team support. I hope I have the strenght to continue this grind to jump into the BR III - BR V bracket where I can get stomped on again, but this time with more than only my own rally point next to the objective. :grinning:

@XSWQAZQQ

Here is a very rough example of a typical game I have.

Disregard the fact I have next to 0 engineer points and haven’t built basically anything. I’m trying to level up my AT Gunner and tank squads soI played with an anti-gun, tank and a little piloting.

Notice the difference in kills between me and the 2nd and 3rd player of our team and compare the overall kill count on both teams. This is what I’m talking about.

I know I have a ton of improvement to do but in order to carry such a game one needs to be beyond pro.

Engineers make such a huge impact. I see the same thing when my team loses or wins big. Whichever side has noticeable deficit in engineering points is the loser.

Side note, I started playing BR II on the Soviet and German sides and it’s a blast. I got so used to the wild BR V matches. It’s like a totally different and refreshing game to slow down, rock the bolt action rifles, and play against tanks that don’t take 25 hits to blow up haha.
