I don’t know how many times I have heard this asked, but to remember it: people would be happy if axes served that purpose, cutting trees to the ground, since currently if you want to fell some very hard trees that not even a tank at maximum speed or a explosive can knock them down, unless we are allowed to remove it with an ax and the melee perk affects the speed of the felling

axe and spade/entrenching-tool/shovel should both do this. but the axe should be substantially faster at it/more reliable at knocking down a tree.

yes, sadly even shovels don’t have a proper bonk and animation…

shovel should also have a secondary use of “flattening”/smoothing the bottom of a trench.
