With the progression changes coming up, I feel like every faction’s sniper squads have solid bolt action and semi auto snipers that are broadly comparable to each other.
However, the Germans also unlock automatic rifles like the MKb, StG, & FG-42 II. Meanwhile the Americans and British get scoped M1 Garands and Lee Enfields, respectively.
Do you think Darkflow should add something to make the Western Allies more competitive in the late war era?

It looks like the Allies won’t be getting any automatic sniper weapons. Well, maybe they will get a trophy stg-44 sniper.
Complete unrelated but I can’t create a topic for some reason it won’t let me ( I have played two games this week)
StG and MKb seem to be assualt rifle with a scope, instead of traditional sniper rifle. Since sinper cannot get a bonus perk of +35% health and only 5 members max, I don’t think it is necessary to intruduce more automatic sniper rifles for Allies due to the limited influence for match. Now the Springfield and Lee Enfield have 8x or 6x scope and can kill enemies for one shot from a very long distance. While semi-auto rifles usually cannot ensure killing and consume rounds much quickly. Bolt sniperifle is powerful enough. The way to make Western Allies more competitive should focus on automatic weapons, because there is no such automatic weapons that could fight against FG42 and FG42II, anyway M2 Carbine is more like AR or SMG, we need some hunk rifles like AVT-40.
Mind you it was it was modified to be semi-auto but again whatever.

Auto snipers are useless unless you remove the scope or use them as semis.
I don’t disagree, but it just feels weird that the Germans and Russians get automatic rifles for their sniper units while nobody else does.
Wait American get m2 (scoped)
There were some variants of the M1 carbine that had scopes. They were not fully automatic only semi. The M3 carbine had a infrared scope (it couldn’t see far) but it was fully automatic because it was based off of the M2 carbine.
Well. They never had assault rifles during the war or battle rifles similar to the AVS which could make use of a scope. The closest ones are maybe the BAR or the Johnson LMG but I dont know of they had scopes versions.
They probably didn’t because the BARs were already heavy and most troops lightened them by removing whatever they could.
Some Boys AT rifles had scopes jerry rigged to them though.
That’s true. The devs have kinda already opened the pandora’s box with all the prototype weapons they’ve added to the game, so I could see them adding a scoped variant of the M2 Carbine or something.
Well. I would be happy to see them but so far no one came up with one or the devs. The M3 is maybe the closest but that thing would be pointless since night vision on day fights is kinda over the top. And speaking of my experience with the M3 in BFV.
