One of the few things that bothers me about The game, is how little damage AT rifles deal against tank modules. This alone is the main reason such weapon users aren’t able to deal with tanks effectively, as historically those rifles where mainly used to disable certain tank parts in order to reduce the threat they represent, for example, the PTRD was used to destroy the tracks of a tank with a well placed shot, but in the game it can take up to 3 shots to break a track, which means they would probably be dead before braking the enemy tank’s track.
Other modules such as the turret ring or transmission also remain extremely resistant to AT rifles making them pointless to use against tanks in any other way than trying to kill crew members at point blank range from the sides of the tank. but at that point AT rifles will easily get out classed by AT grenades.
Main reason rifles and cannons are unused- holy multitask pocket nuke in number of 1-4 for every soldier in squad. Main problems of rifles are bugs with accuracy and broken bipod mechanics. Rifle shouldn’t just pierce through, killing whole inside for one bullet. also i agree sometimes they damage tracks of engines too low but still. Multitask weapons and soldiers rule in game
Wellcome to AT grenades, in general they where very deadly against tanks, in fact if the game went for an even realistic take, molotovs would knock down tanks left and right, the thing is not an issue with AT grenades (dynamite as its place holder) but an issue with AT rifles dealing very little damage, in comparison you can knock down a tank fairly fast with rocket launchers and they aren’t outclassed by Dynamite.
Sounds like cry for “victory button”. Tanks give alot more experience to killer and have way more attention on them while should pay attention to every freakin pixel on a picture. And adding a reduced speed, reduced view and endless bugs with shells. One at gun usually destroys tank easily. It’s kinda battle of skills but it should be like that, becuz it’s too fat to have pack of exp from a sawn grave. I’d agree about increasing power of any barrel weapon in return of limiting explosion force and number of tnt as tanks are limited too and AT weapons/grenades are barely useful with low volume of capturing zones and high focus on killing machines
if AT rifle where better at destroying modules like tracks it woudl be a good way to immobilise a tank at range… but with the actual damage model only perfect shot do anything and you often need 3-4 shot in a module to destroy it. at to that that penetration is barely enough to pen light tank and totaly too low to pen the med tanks and it get annoyign very fast
Becuz they weren’t the panacea IRL. Most dangerous thing is cannon which have 2-4 shots to take out any vehicle it can pen. And since you take out gunner and breeching, tank is no more danger to you
Honestly, tanks simply should lose tracks from AT rifles quite a bit easier. 1-2 shots. Right now, you need luck and maybe shoot at the track receivers instead.
And in general, tank modules seem to be a bit wonky in terms of how much damage they can withstand. Optics, tracks, ammo, people inside, barrel… They can take several shots.
