Assault squad composition

Recently I realised that it’s possible to have 4 assaulters + a gunner in this squad (yes, I’m slow). Don’t you think it’s a bit too much? Most other squads can have 1-2, max 3 guys with full auto weapons as standard ones. It’s quite a big gap.
My sugestion is to change blue upgrade tree in assaulter squads, so you have to choose between additional assaulter or a gunner. So you either have 4 assaulters or 3 assaulters + a gunner.

It would not much of an assault squads with the same or less amount of assault troops on it, when compared to other squads, wouldn’t it?

4/3 in assault squad vs 3/2 in other squads
How is that less?
And don’t forget about the gunner.

I think so but people love their machine guns. Despite the most common weapon of WWII being a bolt action rifle.

I use 4 assaulter 1 bomber with bolt-action and 2 trooper with semi-auto

don’t forget the automatic weapons that troopers, engies, radio man and bombers can use

I hope that this will be removed oneday.
Bit even if not, they are late unlocks and we have to ballance things also in mid game, don’t we.

i hope they would be put for assaulters only, for the sole reason to give my assualters the holy m2 carbine. and maybe they could make one of the assault options mixed with the gunner option?

While that is true, there where various instances where entire squads got smgs or automatic weapons, the Soviets for example did this from time to time, when they sent troops to take or defend cities.

So I don’t have an issue with one squad having high amounts of automatic weapons, so long not every squad is running full auto without any rifles on them.

One soviet squad is not an entite army.

Sure, the old saying comes to mind. exception proves the rule.

There’s instances of US/GER/ITL/RU having squads with nothing but full autos and for every company of fully automatic rifles there’s a regiment of bolt actions.

Having options to costumize out squads how we want its, for me, a selling point for this game

Having the option to run 4 assaulters, 1 engineer 1 trooper and 1 radio man makes the experience more enjoyable.

Don’t change that.

let’s not forget that at the time the troops with automatic weapons were veteran soldiers or trained to use them they did not give them in the hands of recruits

It’s the case since the first day of CBT. And also historically accurate. Everybody attacks with their LMG in their squad(which takes the most important part in any infantry squad in WW2 that why almost every infantry squad have a gunner slot)
In the German combat manual, all offensive missions required the cooperation of LMGs(MG34/42), and the role of the bolt-action rifles were to protect the light machine guns. Even IRL does the LMG the most important combat role, not BF rifles.

Never claimed the anything else, not sure what you are saying there, I said that one squad from every single squad there is in a faction can run a larger amount of automatic weapon, while the rest would run primarily rifles, with a few using mgs or smgs.

I don’t get you.
I won’t change your composition and you don’t want it changed. So what is your argument about?

If you state that 4 assaulters and extra might be too much on original post , you probably think about reducing said power. No?

Or I might having some confusion understanding the original post. And I apologize for that.
