Maybe we could give assault rifles a 10%-15% fire rate buff to improve their mid-range performance. Even with this buff, they still wouldn’t outperform BR5 SMGs (Thompson 1928A1: ???) in close quarters.

Never say never. . . . . there is one occasion that springs to mind. When I solo attack the point and I just want to spray and pray with a 100 round mag (that’s easier to control recoil with than an RD-44). The Fedorov isn’t particularly useful for assaulting a point alone.

What’s comfortable for one person may not be comfortable for the other. I play very casually, maybe 1 or 2 matches a day (if I’m lucky). I haven’t exactly had the time to build muscle memory for every gun, so those that recoil less are typically the ones I go for.

11 vertical by 4 horizontal @ 1040 rpm is sooooo much different than
16 vertical by 5 horizontal @ 600 rpm
Ah I forgot, the Federov Avtomat is an uncontrollable monster and is very hard to use!

Total bs and you know it, RD-44 has very little recoil and you can easily reset it by bursting. While Tommy has really bad vertical recoil and massive dmg drop off. RD-44 is the best gun Soviets have in it’s arsenal at BR5.

I’d love to see you guys do this with the Thompson 100. Is it impossible? No. But getting the same result as these actual GOOD weapons will be more challenging. The NKVD Thompson is irrelevant outside of LARP and fun, because the Federov, RD-44, and SF rifles are what make up BR5. Not SMGs.
Also, saying these guns are hard to control is laughable. Look at my RD-44 gameplay. I’m not even crouching half the time…

How about we remove the fire rate increase for SMGs and MGs instead?
It only makes the game less realistic.
Instead players would unlock the ability to adjust the fire rate within historical values.
Such as AVS-36 2 settings: 800 rpm and 600 rpm
MG42 with three settings: 900 rpm, 1200 rpm, 1500 rpm

I laugh at fools that keep saying that MG42 100 can achieve same amazing kill power as RD-44 because “it has better dmg” while in reality MG can never kill in single shot (vs VIT) and rof is negligible while recoil difference is massively in favour of RD-44.
They have already shut up about Fedorov being worse than STG44 after recent buff ain’t it? They are also very silent about AT-44 and AS-44 being superior to STG44 as they are just too busy enjoying their Soviet bias.
Well maybe now’s not the time to mention I’ve only shot these weapons while in practice mode because I haven’t unlocked them yet and the only times I have used them in match is when I looted them off people. . . . .
