Assault order for AI

It would be nice to have some kind of “assault” order for our squads.

How I imagine it:

Chose the order from the command wheel. Now the default order (X button) placed on the ground no longer causes AI to move there but to assault this position.
During the assault, soldiers move and shoot. Soldiers with full auto weapons move and hipfire, the rest sprints for a few meters and stops to shoot (frog leaps). AI has greatly increased target detection vs targets in the assaulted area but has a heavy penalty for accuracy.
During the last 10-15m AI throws grenades to the area, even if there are no enemies inside (though targeting enemies should be prioritised). It would be great if AI could throw grenades through the windows etc (not 100% successfully of course) but I guess this may be hard to do.
If soldiers have bayonets, they charge through the remaining 10m and engage in melee. (Of course they wait for a while to not get killed by their own grenades.)


I guess it is super hard to do something like this. But it would be great.

are you certain you have the name of the order correct? shouldnt it be “go die there” order?

No, that’s the default order. All other orders contain it as a base.

They should just copy squad behavior and orders from the newest BiA.

anyway, as it goes for suggestion at hand,
sure… but

there is a thing with ai and moving and shooting.
rather, there isn’t a single one that does that. not even new " aggressive " zombies which do have some sort of new behavior. they actively chase players and engage them ( albeit, only engage when stationary )

and i’m not sure why.
it seems it’s… impossible for them to do?

Well, I guess it’s high time to move the butt and implement this. Instead of the wind effects for example.
(Yes it’s made by a different team blah blah blah you get the point.)

well, after few years ( and… through an april first event ) we finally got AI that don’t just go from a to b, but actively chase players.

i know it might not seems much, but for enlisted standards, it kinda is :astonished:

now… unfortunately, the two aren’t connected.

because this behavior is only applied onto the new zombies such as para, and generally riflemen, the ones with weapons and not melee.

and i did tried to apply it onto normal AI but it doesn’t work. maybe i’m missing something.

anyway, it’s a start.

I Just checked the series to be sure. And I found out there are some newer mobile games, lol. Obviously, I had no clue something like that even exists.

well, for brothers in arms,
i personally never played it.

i saw the squad management and how they behave though,
that, would be an end goal for sure.

i’m just tired of these chickens that dies and accomplishes nothing.

perhaps the best AI that i have seen ( in a while that is ) Ready or not,

holy moly if those are great, well thought out, and actually get shit done.

and then i cry looking at enlisted one .sob.

There’s planned new game that’s going to be part of the main series as far as I know.

But the lastest game is Hell’s highway from 2008 (not counting some mobile games etc)

dam well it been a while since i see the story of it tbh wonder what it will be like

BIA Battle of the bulge is discontinued but not cancelled like is half life 3
