A lot of people desire assault engineers on the USA and JP faction, and two candidate weapons for such are the Ribeyrolles carbine in 8x35 and the handful of STGs that Japan purchased from Germany.
While the idea of Japan getting STG44s might sound revolting, keeping it limited to an event squad and out of the tech tree would make the most sense. It would be similar to the NKVD squad who uses purchased Thompsons from the United States.
The USA assaulter engineers with the Ribeyrolles could possess French uniforms and voicelines
itHmm I don’t like the French Ribeyrolles Carbine , while AR I dont think a US squad should get .
Far better options exist , just a little back story here , US light rifle program was the program that resulted in M1 carbine , it was done in 2 phase and in 1st phase all the rifles had selector and .30 ammo is close to intermediate ammo . Anyway here is my favorite rifle of the 1 phase of that program which could replace Ribeyrolles carbine.
This is benix-hyde rifle for first phase which also can accept 20 round
Another note first phase also required the submitters to submit box magazines with capacity of 5, 10 , 15, 20 and 50 round so this could get 50 round unfortunately I couldn’t find any picture of 50 round .
Exactly, with the exception of some gold order lower BR Assault rifles, those Assault Engineers basically only get to use BR5 STG, Fedorov and such - so they aren’t really all that special since they could at BR5 just as well pick FG42 and AVT.
If those event engineers could use SMGs, that would make them interesting for sure.
1.Air Force Order
2. Automatic was the designation of most semi-automatics rifles. Automatic rifles as of today’s understanding would be classified as a machine rifle then (which were usually derivatives of the rifles like the Autorifle C7 having a FM C7 version)
The Ribey with 8x35SR and the 25 rounds mag is ok though as it is indeed automatic in the modern sense. it was just wayyyyy to early to the game
You can’t expect everything to be photographed, there is official documents of Japan purchasing STG44s so it would be fine for an event or premium squad. I am extremely opposed to putting something like that into the tech tree however
You won’t find a single picture of Soviet soldiers carrying AS-44 or Fedorov Avtomat (post 1942) or rd-44 and yet BR5 is full of them. So Historical accuracy is no longer valid excuse for anything in the game as it’s pretty much as authentic and realistic as Star Wars games.
