Hi.
I’ve been playing the Berlin campaign and one thing I’ve thought very strongly about is the need for fixed cannons and anti-aircraft guns on the map.
I hope that the battle for Berlin will be an “unbalanced” battle.
It means that there won’t be too many German planes and tanks, but instead the whole city will become a defensive position for Germany.
As a little idea, Germany famously used a tank turret as a tochka in the Battle of Berlin. I would love to see such a cleverly disguised turret fighting the Soviets, who were well supplied and equipped.
The Flakturm in Berlin is probably the most famous. Soviet infantrymen heading towards it while anti-aircraft fire from various parts of the city is firing all at once… imagine that!
In World War II, many fixed batteries were used.
The presence of fixed turrets on the map, rather than as a piece of equipment for an engineering unit, will make the atmosphere of the battlefield more powerful.
Of course, this is not limited to Berlin.
In the current situation where no one chooses to be an engineer, aircraft and tanks will never be called OP if they have the equipment they were put there from the start.
