Armored Cars

Main problem is they don’t have lots of these modeled in WT, especially with only MG as main armament.

I don’t know if WT is willing to create a model for Enlisted that will not be used at their side. Or if Darkflow is capable of doing it alone.

Ok, I have to venture deep into opinion territory now. I cannot refute any of these points, I simply don’t agree, that what you mention can rival the utility of a tank in most situations.

One more thing, though: You seem to be conflating armoured cars and halftracks (like the M3 and Sdkfz you mentioned). Halftracks in the APC role is something I would love to have in the game.

however with the current maps where even the tanks struggle to move, adding other stuff that could be bugging around doesn’t seem like a good idea to me maybe later once the maps are enlarged the engineers will be able to use the halftrucks to transport the allied infantry around and maybe the scouts will be able to use the armored cars but for the moment saying things without thinking about the impact it would have on the game and not proposing a solution about it its usless, all this speech is a waste of time

i used to think the same.

but in enlisted it’s not the case.

half of these vehicles are present as well.

the sdkfz 222 i just found out a couple of days ago that it’s present for the chinese tech tree as SPAA over 3 years. although for some reason, it’s present in the game, but only for testers.

the m3 and the BA are AI vehicles. which can be traslated into MP vehicles like happened with the 221 ( and others few ).

and lastly for machineguns, in enlisted there is the 251 with a rear machinegun.

something that in war thunder the rear machinegun it’s not present.

so i’m quite sure they are capable to do anything as they showed.

they just need time though.

yeah, the main point is that in order to work, we need bigger maps.

which berlin somewhat bringed.

We need an Flakturm, but this is not on the topic at all.

But they said that someday they might be made, although 4-5 large cards are definitely already in the game

YEEEEAH add more stuff to shit on infantry, great suggestion

well, my thoughts were that both the Heavy Armored Cars and Light Armored Cars could be killed by current anti-armor tools, as well as give the devs a reason to add more anti-armor options a la the Boys AT rifle.

As to implementation, I personally think the best way to go about it is have them either be a squad where you can pick your vehicle, like a light vehicle squad a team can have a couple of, or to have them be present at team spawn zones and slowly respawn throughout the course of the round.

I personally prefer the former, since it would allow players greater choice in what they want to do. Hell, you could throw in regular troop trucks, cars, and other weird utility vehicles.

I know, but i am general not a fun of making infantries life worse. On the other hand infantry mechanized squads with Sdkfz 251 and M3s would ne nice. But with MGs only as vehicle guns. Anything more like a 20mm would be a pain imo

I’d sorta want to avoid armored cars playing like gimped tanks. If at all possible, armored cars should be given sorta limited ammo, and their players should be encouraged to use them to push up with infantry rather than rush ahead, and then hop out and cap the point.

I’d say 20mms are the most they should have, and only the small-capacity 20mms a la the KwK.

Interesting suggestion. Maybe having limited ammo could work and make a 20mm armored car ok and just a squads with big pushing impact but for a limited time due to ammo

basically yeah.

In short, the overwhelming emphasis for armored cars should be ’cheap’. Use them for brief pushes, use them for holding down areas for a shorter period of time. They don’t have the hull, pushing power, or sticking power of a tank, but they can make do.

So wy add them

so a normal granade puff by by no one use them because tank are better
Now we nerf things even before they are in game :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

well, it’s a machine gun on wheels that rifles and pistols can’t hurt. Like a tank, it forces you to either get heavy weapons, or get up close and blow it up. Being able to park a machinegun emplacement wherever you like, and then move it again is pretty powerful on its own. Not falling apart like sandbags is another big benefit.

Well just limit tanks to 1 per team, and vuala here is a place for them

The Daimler Armoured Car was a successful British armoured car design of the Second World War that continued in service into the 1950s. It was designed for armed reconnaissance and liaison purposes. During the postwar era, it doubled as an internal security vehicle in a number of countries.

i’m aware lots of armored cars had cannons, but i’ve been pretty explicit about not using designs that don’t have a machine gun as a main armament.

An armored car is more similiar to a tank they are used aganaist infantry but how the puma in normandy show us thei are good even for blow up enemy tank

The Sd.Kfz. 234 ( Sonderkraftfahrzeug 234 , Special Purpose Vehicle 234), was a family of armoured cars designed and built in Germany during World War II. The vehicles were lightly armoured, armed with a 20, 50 or 75 mm main gun, and powered by a Tatra V12 diesel engine.[3] The Sd.Kfz. 234 broadly resembles the appearance of Sd.Kfz. 231 (8 rad ).[2]

the puma is a very heavy armored car, the last of the sd.kfz 231 series. Light armored vehicles with big guns are historically very useful, but tank destroyers ought to be a thing left to proper tank squads.

While in real life armored cars could contend with light and medium tanks, I really do feel that in enlisted, they should really only contend with ground troops. Leave the armored fighting to the big boys.
