Are the bomb markers broken

First i saw the markers about 20M away kill my BR5 tank fine they were 250KG or 500-pound bombs, so big bomb
then i watched magic same bombs 30 to 40M in front of me land and kill the rest of my squad 40 to 50 meters behind me get killed, 40 to 100 meters from the bomb
one last thing the soldier i was controlling half the distance to where the bomb was supposed to have landed was uninjured

a the bomb markers are in the wrong place b black magic they flattened 1 80-to-100-meter area

what is the kill radius for the 250KG bomb radius in the game for infantry and armor please and thank you

I sometimes feel like bombs have a higher kill range for AI, because many bombs wipe my squad without killing me.

Must be just my imagination though.

bombs can have fragmentation area of up to 156m away from bomb. basically it is rng if you get hit with fragmentation or not in that radius.

one that’s a big chunk of the entire playable area and two it killed four out of five soldiers that’s not a chance that’s 80%
what’s the map area not grey zone 300x300 or maybe 400x400 that’s like 15% of the entire field that’s broken

ok so markers work the weapon is jus too powerful, and chance to kill should be per soldier not chance to work at all

that is it should not be x% chance to ki;; all soldiers in given area but x% soldier 1 x% soldier 2 x% soldier 3 ect ect

but thanks for the info

150 x 150 22 500 diameter 150 x 2 x 150 x2 90 000 radius
so chance to kill by fragmentation is not decided by soldier but is it decided by squad
but still 90 000 square meters wth what the hell man

The bombs can be released at altitudes between 500 meters and 12 km and at speeds ranging from 500 to 1.100 km/h. The kill radius of the FAB-250 and FAB-500 are given as 100 and 140 meters for soft skinned material and 33 and 60 meters for light armored vehicles .

well sucks to suck

your math is wrong.

  1. bombs explode in sphere (so lots of fragments go up or down)
  2. bombs have finite amount of fragments
  3. maps have obstacles and uneven terrain

your math is wrong, i know i did it on purpose i am lazy if a recalled a circle is like two thirds the area of a square, don’t care about sphere a soldier is around 2m and half the sphere or bomb wont be a direct factor but for back blast, the blast hitting the ground and shooting back

so a sphere with a radius of 156m of something like 60 000 square meters that’s big

yes that is “big”, but you forget that only fraction of fragments get to 150m.

out of 15k fragments that 500kg bomb has, mathematically half would go into ground immediately. rest would be 7500 fragments over ~76 000m squared. most of those fragments wont go horizontally, but majority of them will go upwards from the bomb (7500/180°), so you basically get 42 fragments that go horizontally in 360° radius for 1° of height. chances are really low that you will get hit by fragmentation past few meters of blast zone. not to mention loads of fragments are negated by buildings or uneven terrain.

also idk mathematical model they use ingame, but bomb always seems like it drops into terrain, so it seem like there is smaller angle to work with than 180°

well i had a squad at seventy to ninety meters and lost four out of five soldier, but again sucks to suck that’s what a 250KG bomb can do

According to the Institute for the Study of War FAB-250 bombs “weight 250 kilograms, hold an explosive weight of 99 kilograms, have a damage radius of 120 meters , and can destroy manpower, equipment, and light fortifications.”

According to the Institute for the Study of War, FAB-500 “hold an explosive weight of 150 kilograms, have a damage radius of 250 meters , and can destroy headquarters, warehouses, and concrete and reinforced concrete objects.”

pray they don’t let in bigger bombs

so you basically get 42 fragments that go horizontally in 360° radius for 1° of height. chances are really low that you will get hit by fragmentation past few meters of blast zone. not to mention loads of fragments are negated by buildings or uneven terrain.

well my squad took four or more shards
sucks to suck

like i said RNG. most of the time 250kg bomb wont hit any one of the soldiers at that distance or will hit maybe one.

i am just saying rng should be for each member of the squad not the squad as a unit as normally when moving each soldier is no closer then 10m from any other

i may be wrong, but when bomb explodes game should assign random direction to each fragment (aka RNG) and based on it calculate if there are any soldiers in its way.

game doesnt RNG your squad for deaths…

42 fragments let us be generous and say two of my soldiers were in the same line that’s three fragments in the same 10-degree arc one of thirty-six i call bull

like i said RNG. for all you know RNG could have sent thousand fragments in your direction. that is how RNG works. it is not evenly divided with averages, it is (pseudo)random.

one the bomb is limited to its surface area it will not peel like an onion, one A large percentage of the bomb will be vaporized, two a large percent will be drive into the ground, three a bomb is omni direction unless otherwise design meaning a 360 x 360 degree dispersion, in order for thousands of frags to go in my direction there would have to be millions exceeding the mass of the bomb, a bomb is not a fragmentation grenade its internal volume far exceeds its surface area,

there is the concussion wave and secondary shrapnel as well as ricochet, spalling and who knows what else but ironically its either clustering in a small area or greatly scattered that’s the worse, evenly distributed means more of my soldiers should have lived than died. this was not a grenade in a tightly packed group, this was a semi dispersed group far from the explosion evenly distributed,

nothing is impossible simply saying killing all four was such a freak occurrence it should not be in the game, a so random a it should not happen as in an overly above average amount of frag came my way or there is too much frag in the games bombs,

again one kill at that range unlucky, two kills very unlucky, three the gods have it in for me to return balance for all the bombs that wiff but four is just malicious.

it is nature of RNG. in probably over 95% of the cases on those distances you wont get any damage from bombs. in that 0.0001% you will have 4 people die from fragments on 80m distance.

lucky me one in a million or unlucky i guess so sucks to suck, thanks for chatting with me hope you have a good day
