Enlisted developers have put in much work into this game with many maps, consistently updating the game mechanics, bug fixes as well creating new maps and units for us to enjoy. They try their best to keep it historically accurate as well attempting to cover dozens of locations during ww2. Among all the suggestions we have for them try to remain appreciative with what they have already done and are still doing for us!
I still think this is an amazing fun game, with tons of potential.
Amazing dev team imo.
Why did they then add MKB-42 to Moscow and Stalingrad, Pz IV F2 to Moscow, PPS-42 to Stalingrad; RPD, AS, MG-45, STG-45 to Berlin?
It’s my personal favorite game a good appreciation post is not looking for attention it is giving attention to a good creation. and since when has a simple post required much effort? Your post is pathetic and you seem triggered by your own corrupted mindset
I can’t help but agree with, Vurcingetorix, that was a rather horrid post by you, Unggoy. Since when was it up to you what other people can post about? If ,Vurcingetorix, wants to praise what the Dev’s have done then what’s wrong with that? Personally I also think they have done a great job. Obviously there is still work to do but then that is why the game is still in a beta format. Try using your brain next time before you trash someone else’s perfectly good post.
I love this game…even with all its flaws.
And the potential is still huge. Can only hope it reaches it.
And honestly I feel like input I make sometimes makes it into the game, even if thats not true it means the devs must have similar ideas which is a good sign…(obviously I dont like everything)
Other than the AS-44, the rest are acceptable since they did exist by that time and seen extensive use even if not in that region the campaign is set in.
Funny how you didn’t even mention M2 Carbine.
Where is update?
If you read my comment properly before it was removed, kekw.jpg
. I didn’t even hint at prohibiting them from expressing their opinion. I am allowed to express my opinion the same way they can express theirs.
Speaking of opinion, gee I wonder why Enlisted is not accredited to any real person beside the legal entity known as Darkflow? Even the people at Darkflow don’t want to show themselves having any connection to this hellspawn of a game that’s being kept alive by spaghetti codes.
On Darkflow being great, let’s expand on that shall we?
AI
-
Can not recognize or interact with game objects like vehicles, static placements. A big scary tank is as dangerous as a wall of sandbags.
-
They don’t have a search behavior in their combat cycle, and the fact that each actor does now keep the target(s) last known location in memory result in the peekaboo 1 tap the entire squad playstyle.
-
Pathfinding is bad, there are no vault over hint on low windows, and fences for the AI resulting in player jumping through a window only to find out that the AI squad took the longer route and get slaughtered. The search algorithm breaks whenever the bot enter deep water.
-
The actor can not move and shoot, often making them stop and crouch to engage in the open. Each time this happen the squad is separated further from the player.
-
No transparency, the player can not tell what the bot is trying to do or how their actions have a clear impact on the AI decision making. There is a significant lack of clues for the AI’s behavior whether visual or auditory.
-
Can’t build anything other than a rally point that is still far away from the objective.
-
Can’t use secondary weapons that are squad specific, rendering most squad to be rifle squad or assault squad.
-
Does not recognize danger zone like artillery, airstrike, or big scary vehicle about to run them over.
-
Lack of different personality, all soldier classes from the different factions behave the same way. They have the same level of aggression and combat cycle. If there are different personality then there is a lack of transparency.
-
Actors in the same squad does not share the targets coordinates. One may see a target while the rest of the squad are still in the idle state, instantly break immersion of commanding an actual squad.
-
Worst of all their actions are robotic and binary in nature. They’re not believable as a human soldier during WW2, total immersion breaker.
Take a lookat what is possible at 2020, and compare these to the current state for the AI in Enlisted.
Clip 01
Clip 02
Camera
SInce Enlisted is a true FPS, every action is driven from the 3rd person character body. Enlisted devs decide to have the character’s head as steady as possible to counteract the camera shake from having the camera attached to the neck. How about making the animation for the human character more, idk, human? How about instead of having the head stationary like a chicken:
Have the camera focus on one point in front of the character, counter rotate the camera to stay focus on that point to simulate human eyeball stabilization, and counter translate the body motion to make the stabilization more effective.
Animation
Terrible!
Character animation seem like a $10 animation pack from the Unreal Engine Marketplace.
Graphic
Inconsistencies
- You can control the parachute while descending in the Normandy campaign, but you can’t do the same in the Pacific.
- Some weapons have bipods in the deployed position while others aren’t.
Terrible management
- Campaign merge was only an after thought.
- New mechanics are rushed to meet the deadline resulting in the mechanic not behaving the way it’s intended on release. New bugs and/or broken mechanic is a Darkflow guarantee upon every major update.
- Rushed deadline result in poor qualities like this:
Monetization

Bugs
- Slow bug fix, major bug left unfixed for u to 6 months, and is left in the “open” state at the bug report website.
- Old bugs reappearing.
- It’s nearly the end the 3rd quarter for 2023. If it take this long to merge a campaign, one could only imagine how long it take to fix all the bugs.
Or Jumbo, or A13 or M65/41 or however its called, OVP, ZH, Japanese stuff that never left the Main Isles or the Panzer III B.
Panzer III B and E should have been Pz38 and Stug
Why is is funny? I just don’t know/care about the western front as much as about the eastern front.
I’m truly sorry I didn’t provide an exhaustive list of every firearm (no)
M2 Carbine as well.
Sorry what? lmao
What extensive use did RPD see if it was only tested and never adopted by the military in WW2?
Sorry what? haha
What kind of existance did MKB-42 or Pz IV F2 have during the battle of Moscow in fall-winter 1941?
What extensive use did MG-45 or STG-45 have at all if they were never serially produced in the first place?
Please at least try
Because no one in their right mind would make themselves liable like that, no matter what business they operated lol.
Not true, you can order soldiers to occupy emplacements and vehicles
Shooting in and out of cover to get kills while avoiding being killed is the essence of an FPS, no? Also, they still shoot at you while you are behind cover, so they remember where you are, otherwise you wouldn’t need to take cover.
That is shown underneath each soldiers icon in your squad, which explains the status of each soldier as you provide orders.
What do you mean? You can have engineers build whatever you order them to so long as you have a blueprint down?
Thats a commander issue tbh, they should be paying attention to the minimap.
While I can get the appeal of having a Japanese soldier acting different vs say a German soldier, it personally seems like a low-priority issue considering other things that could be worked on.
What game are these clips from? Seems like they are of a handful of soldiers in what seems like a single-player campaign, vs Enlisted which has a couple hundred soldiers running around at once in a multiplayer battle. This doesn’t really seem like an equivalent to me.
Ahh yes, big bad company selling a product that they don’t require people to buy for a game that’s free .
While there are many reports in the CBR, they were accruing before the alpha team was even created. We now go through more reports than are created every week, so we are getting through what players are giving us as quickly as we can.
It is an early access game so things may not work as intended, especially AI which is much more difficult to program than people seem to think. While overall Enlisted has its flaws, it’s a fun game that gets worked on and updated weekly. The merge is going to be a big change, so obviously they are taking their time on it. Otherwise people would be here first thing after the update drops to complain that it was rushed. You definitely have some valid points but I do feel like some of your points are a little exaggerated.
For OP, yes, there is a ton of potential with the game, but I am happy with the way things are moving!
Saying the current state of the AI is anything but atrocious is exhibiting a lack of understanding for the current trends in the video game industry.
Some of the point you raised seem like you disagree for the sake of disagreeing. If there were any confusion before, the bullet points under the AI does not exclude a complete AI controlled squad.
Yes, and then what can they do?
Can they shoot with the static placement? No
Can they drive? No
You are correct on the first part, but incorrect in the second part. I said
"each actor does not keep the target(s) last known location in memory result in the peekaboo 1 tap the entire squad playstyle.
The actor does not shoot you when you are behind cover and have completely disappeared for even 1 second. They don’t coordinate a search or an attack on their target’s last known position, they immediately forget about you and go on to do other tasks.
Not like AI squad is the selling point for Enlisted, riiiight? AI controlled Assaulter squad should be much more aggressive than AI controlled rifle squad, but they are not. The best thing about Enlisted is mediocre at best.
Are you suggesting memory constraint? Could you elaborate on how much memory is allocated to each AI soldier in Enlisted?
Good implementation for an even more complex AI in other games such as Halo 2 require 256 B of memory allocation per AI soldier, that is around 26 kB for 100 AI soldiers. (GDC 2005 Proceeding: Handling Complexity in the Halo 2 AI)
Halo 2 came out almost 19 years ago btw.
Need I remind you that Enlisted can run on the XBOX Series S, a system that ship with 10 GB of RAM. 8 GB running at 224 GB/s for the graphic system, and 2 GB at 56 GB/s reserved for computing functions. Older systems released from 2013 like the PS4 and the XBOX One still have 8 GB of RAM, that is still plenty of memory.
Ahh yes, big bad company selling sh*t products that they don’t require people to buy for a game that’s free. Where the price is so high just to satisfy the operation cost because only a few people buy their products.
ftfy
I case you missed the point, I’m not criticizing having to pay for a service, I’m criticizing the asking price relative to the quality of the product and the current state of the game.
It seem that you are disagreeing for the sake of wanting an argument with a faceless stranger online, and without having any valid point. At least it’s clear now that I’m not part of the hive mind.
People think ai fills large place in pc space. Ai is actually very minor percentage of all game space unless you are not playing chess or go simulation.
Most place that game requires are for improved graphics.
Sadly, games have been getting dumber and dumber in content wise, meanwhile graphics are being bloated up to make them seem like shinny good stuff but empty inside.
Recent bombshell in steam, battlebit, proved gameplay is way more important and producers who rely on cheap tactics are wrong.
If you are an old gamer you can probably remember bf2, cod 1 and 2 bots in singleplayer.
They were challenging, smart.
