Appeal Request for Unfair Forum Ban

I’d like to suggest adding a ban appeal system to the forum. Right now, if a user is banned, there’s no way to challenge it, even if the ban was issued unfairly or due to a misunderstanding. Having a proper appeal process would ensure fairness and allow users to explain their side before being locked out for days.

Why This Is Needed:

Mistakes Happen – Sometimes bans are given based on misinterpretations, and users should have a way to clarify their intent.

Transparency & Fairness – A review system would make the moderation process more balanced, ensuring that punishments fit the situation.

Better Community Trust – Giving users a voice makes the forum feel more welcoming rather than just enforcing punishments without discussion.

How It Could Work:

A dedicated appeal section where users can submit their cases.

A simple appeal form allowing users to state why they believe their ban was unfair.

A review system where another moderator (not the one who issued the ban) can assess the case for neutrality.

Most nearly all social platforms and gaming ones have this type of a system. It should be a choice to be allowed appeal something. Not 2 moderators saying “Nah dont unban that person I dont like them”. A different moderator handles the case. Just a suggestion thats very well needed indeed.

I hope the admins consider implementing this, as it would improve the forum experience for everyone. Thanks for reading!

it would be lovely,

but some of those people lost the access to post because they can’t post in the first place unless they played 2 weekly matches.

which…
kinda hard to do without the access to the game.
unless someone were to make another account, and risk to be punished for that since it’s against the rules as well.

Yeah but it can still be implemented. If they make another account it wouldnt really matter its not their original nd theyd have to start over again. I would like it added it would be alot better with it.

Well, except that is against the rules of the game. You are not supposed to have an alt account.

I understand your point and I think it would be fair to appeal for unfair ban anyway.

The account thing I can understand. I just want them to implement some appeal system. It would be better for the most.

It certainly is - it is one of Gaijin’s basic terms of service which also ppply to Enlisted:

You said it’s not against the rules when it clearly is.

I am no IT geek so I have no idea how they might find such things except the obvious - shared machines or IP’s… also occasionally someone will admit to having multiple accounts and whoosh - there they go…

Ahh… “It’s not fair I got banned - my account was hacked!!”…

Happens right after every banwave!

Also

You can appeal to “Support” - but if they have evidence to ban an acct then that’s a pretty steep hill to get over.

Every time there’s a banwave on WT there’s a whole lot of “The ban is unfair - my account got hacked” posts … it’s like clockwork!

Not talking abouy war thunder but i get what you mean. Im talking about the forum.

it is basically unenforceable. not to mention sharing IP, people often share same machine and there are whole business that are made for people to share PC(internet cafe). outside of someone admitting that they have multiple accounts, it is impossible to determine if it is the same person behind keyboard on multiple accounts.

while 99% those are definitely excuses when they got caught, there were cases of legit hacks in other games.
here is situation from apex legends.

also there are lot of people who dont have operational security, so they use one password for everything. if someone gets access to their email, it is somewhat easy to get their password from sites that got hacked where he used same email and password combination. you can check if any of your accounts have been compromised on https://haveibeenpwned.com/

There are no ban appeals in the forum as far as i know. Rules for forum can be found in Gaijin Community Guidelines: Common Rules and in fact mods only take action against repeated violator that despite being warned not to they still continue. Which in reality is already quite fair since u get warned instead of punished directly.

Yes good advice - but also if you actually ARE hacked then that hacked account should rightly be banned, and there’s really no excuse unless you are over 80 and this is your first ever computer!!

We want an appeal system. Its that simple for the forum at least because bans can be unfair on this … if people hack thats their own problem shouldn’t be hacking
