trust me it works. I’m a Blitzkrieger myself, I play aggressively even in defence. You find the blindspot, get close to objective. hide troops near by with K command, then storm the point 1 troop at a time. With the K command you can hide a whole squad in the toilet lol
Im more of a considered striker though. First thing I do is establish my ability to keep up my assault. Rally point close by is always first move, ammo box really close to where I fight. That takes like a minute of my time but increases my aggressive time 10 fold.

But I tend to forget and run ignoring the team, eventually they get out of control and run to their deaths.
well if you practice making your first move a rally point until its habbit. Then it doesn’t matter if you forget and your AI dies. You will be right back with another squad. Always great spots 60-50 meters from objectives.
If you’re free, will you play with me? Reduce the burden of camping friends. It will be good for 1 person in the team if you change him.
what campaign do you like to play. And what time zone. I’m Australian so limited cross over times to many places. I prefer Moscow, Tunisia and Stalingrad
Camping I like to play invasion of normandy, as for playing time, take it as it is convenient for you.
allies or germany (Normandy my least favored campaign, just because its been done to death). Im mid morning at work atm so. Ill see about adding you later.
ok I can play for allies and axis
I sent you a friend invitation. If convenient, accept me as your friend.
Yes. And then I got into my gold 109 and shot every single plane off the sky for the whole match.
The End.
Very simple strat : close enlisted and wait till the devs fix the airplane damage models
Best strat but it takes time
Imo, your best bet is the AA cannon, if you’re you want to bring down a IL-2 or the bombers formation, forget it they’re unstoppable
-
set up your AA gun in the direction the airplane usually attacks the ground, usually at the back of the battle
-
Wait for it to dive and commence attack, it’s easier to destroy it that way, easy to aim since there’s no need to leading, he’s coming in a straight line, easy to put it down for good since you can shoot the pilot and the engine without the vibranium-made fuselage soaking up all the damage
2.5 your best bets at taking down a airplane in Enlisted are the engine, the pilot and the wings
. The engine can be destroyed leaving no way for them to continue flying and can be set on fire off which does the same thing moments after
. If the pilot dies so does the airplane, very simple
. The wings are a stiff one, pure rng if they get destroyed or not but if they’re destroyed it’s a guaranteed kill
Cons : you’ll be in the attack path of the airplane, he’ll have a time window to possibly kill you if he spots you, especially if you aren’t successful at killing him and he spots you after you firing (tracer fire from the ground is easily spotted in the air by planes)
And that enlisted as a whole is a wild card so there’s always a chance you won’t be successful but from my experience this is the best strat and forget about fighter airplanes if you aren’t a war thunder ace that always gets 5+ kills while on cockpit mode
Ps: you have access to AA guns in the engineer squad after researching it in the upgrade tree
I bet the shot calculation is done server side so the firing time and actual simulation event is all jammed. hard to know.
Up front, I’ll admit I’m not a fully expert pilot. I still crash, more often than I’d like. However, I’ve done my share of laps around the battlefield, picking up bombs and delivering them to dudes. So here’s the skinny.
- As stated, dogfighting is an incredibly niche group in this game. If a plane gets shot down, there’s a coin flip’s chance that the tango just happened to spawn in on their 6. It’s a little more common in some campaigns than others. Normandy, there’s a large chance of getting some sky fighting. Stalingrad? Forget it. Just about everyone lawn darts on the first pass. Unfortunately, it’s also about the only way you can shoot down a plane reliably.
If you manage to work a fighter up in rank and learn how to pilot it, you can rack some easy points against enemy attackers and fighters… mainly because the planes are beasts to try to control, the ground clutter sucks making bombing tricky for all but extreme experts, and a few pens before they inevitably crash will next you the “kill”.
-
You want to work up the best aircraft for the job. Forget bullet count, you can always cross the ream point for more. You want high caliber. 7-anything mm is shit against enemy fliers, you pretty much have to score a headshot through the canopy or mag dump everything into one critical point, like the engine. Anything in the mid teens will do.
-
Learn to aim. This will take time, be patient. But just like your ground dudes have aim, so does your flier. I mean, it’s more like a focused zoom, but still. You need to lead the aircraft, the leader reticle is good but not completely accurate. Also, it’s centered on the enemy plane, meaning firing dead accurate puts your rounds into the main fuselage. Which is not a good thing. You need to learn to use that reticle and adjust slightly so your rounds are going into critical parts.
-
Learn to stalk. You have lots of sky to work with, and unless you’re trailing smoke, spotting you isn’t easy. If you get a good vector on the opposing flier, you can ease in behind him for an easier kill. Especially if he’s about to start a bombing run.
-
Unless you are really, really good, avoid the long range bombers at all costs. Their tail gunners will shred you.
-
If you’re on the ground in a heavy tank and you see a plane coming it… go ahead and whip that turret up and take a pot shot at him when he gets close. You might just get lucky.

Planes are just broken, not worth wasting time on them.
I guess you mean not a player-piloted ground attack plane but the heavy bombers called by the artillery spotter?
I don’t think it’s worth to fight against them because there is no way that anyone could shot down six(?) bombers during their 2km flying path to their target zone. Only thing you can do is to run for cover and build/use rally points with solid roof above them.
My luckiest airplane kill was at Fortified District, Moscow campaign. We defended the last cap, on the hills along the frozen river.
I was in the hillside trenches and there was a fixed machine gun. I sprayed the infantry rushing from across the river. And then a Me-109 came from 12 o’clock, dead straight, flying very low! I sprayed him with bullets and it went into flames. The funny thing is that if he flown 20 meters higher I could’t aim him because you can’t aim the MG in very high angles upwards.

If nothing better, Just point a light machine gun at the plane and spray
My personal fav against stukas is an anti tank rifle.
Killed a plane with a rifle mounted grenade launcher once. You could probably knife them as they flyby. They are legit killable.
Aim slightly ahead of the aiming reticle to find the cockpit or wings, then try to predict where they will go. Some fighter pilots are near impossible to hit, maybe top 10 or 8 percent.
