As you all know, consoles have the ability to turn on crossplay , meaning they can play with PC players while PC players don’t have this option. I’ve seen posts asking the devs to give PC the same ability, 1 year later and still no answers.
That is why I will introduce you my take, a matchmaking in terms of PC vs Console
Seems like most of the new players are on console. An option to have PC only matches would indeed lead to more balanced matchmaking, as it would be PC veterans facing PC veterans, and console rookies vs console rookies, while both have access to the cross play option.
I actually think it would be a great idea. It would show just how massive of a difference there is between console and PC, and perhaps divide the lobbies once and for all. What is good balancing on PC isn’t necessarily good balancing on console and vice versa. The lobbies should be split and get different balancing accordingly. IMO
Idk man, some people claimed that console players are competent against PC players and therefore it’s still a balanced matchmaking, surely their opinions hold merit, no?
Let me put it this way. I play on Xbox, and I have NEVER met a console player that says they have had a good time playing against PC players. The two largest factors to this is precision of aim (which even with some recoil management given to console is still nothing compared to PC control), and that PC has a LOT more buttons with which they can map out their controls. Console players have to pick and choose what is most important to their playstyle and sacrifice other things. PC players don’t have that issue.
They do have 1 issue, PC players will mostly do the carrying
Very weird seeing a lot of console players still choose to play with crossplay in this case, although I share the same thoughts that I don’t enjoy playing with consoles, only against
