The french Ribeyrolles, developed between 1916 to 1918 can be considered one of the first assault rifles. Chambered in the 8x32SR intermediate cartridge, it was able to reach ranges of up to 400 meters.
The rifle features a 25 round box mag and could support a bayonet and bipod coupled with the 600rpm fire rate it has this rifle could be a fine choice for a US assault rifle
Move M2 Carbine to Assaulter class XD
The M2 Carbine fills this niche, though this would make a good event squad weapon.
M2 carabine is actually a smg as a rifle, i know damage is sad but fire rate compensates all, included with a 30 rounds maganize : ) and lets dont talk about T20 which is a fg42 with bayonet
Nein. Gimme the Hyde Light Rifle
Am I the only one who loves the m2 carbine?
Starting to feel like a purist…
I genuinely do not care for it. Much prefer the range and damage of the T20
I’m not only about boring meta stuff. For example, the ass44 disgusts me for Soviets as it wasn’t used, so I use the ppsh41. Same thing for T20, it’s just some proto weapon with only a handful ever made, not my thing (I don’t like SF rifles in Enlisted AT ALL either. they plague BR5)
There are some other possibilities as well for the tech tree, but I’m not against adding this as premium/event/GO.
Here are my picks. They could even all be implemented and provide similar choice of preference as the Federov and AS-44 in the Soviet tree:
Winchester Machine Rifle (Burton Rifle)
- .345 WSL (comparable to .351 WSL)
- 800 RPM Fire Rate (Historical Firearms - The Winchester-Burton Machine Rifle The...)
- 20+20 Round Magazines
- .30 Carbine
- 20 Round Magazine
The Bendix-Hyde Carbine: An American Sturmgewehr Prototype in 1941 | thefirearmblog.com
- .30 Carbine
- 20 or 50 round magazine
- 700-900 RPM Fire Rate (Historical Firearms - John Garand’s .30 Calibre Carbine In 1938 the US...)
- .30 Carbine
- 30 Round Magazines
(Hyde Carbine (1944))
Yeah, ya’ll know I main BR II/III anyways so I’m usually using either the M1903, M1 Carbine, or M1 Garand anyways. Lol. But dang it does feel nice to mag dump a group of nazis with the T20
I never bought a TT T20 yet, in truth I put the xp in it but did even unlock it
But I did buy some gold order ones to carry a bit, and they are satisfying to use.
I just didn’t want to equip 9 men with those
I don’t use Riflemen, and I prefer some other odds and ends on some soldiers (like M1 with AT nades on my AT) so I’ve never done the 9 man T20 thing
No riflemen???
but my 9 men m1 Garand squad is among my favourite… (I dislike SF, but do LOVE semis!)
I much prefer my default aggressive set up of Assaulter, MG, and AT
I used to carry a rifleman squad back in the Normandy days, but now I usually run (for Germany) 2 StG Assaulter squads, 1 Mp-717 (the Stalingrad variant) assaulter squad, an MG squad with MG 15s, and the event Normandy Paratroopers. And can’t forget the King Tiger!
Yes I could use more French men
Both Carbines should be able to be used by all classes except for pilots.
RS2 ruined me. I will still use it when needed, however.
One could even make the case that the PPSh is better…
Spoiler
This post was made by the PPSh supremacist gang : )
