An actual case to downtier the type 99 lmg

A while back I made a post suggesting to either downtier the type 96 lmg, but now that the type 99 lmg has been changed to be nearly the same as the type 96 i think it might be worth actually considering downtiering it instead. But now that the type 99 lmg is nearly identical to the type 96 I think it might be worth nerfing the type 99 into br2.

•this would mean decreasing its accuracy, run speed, nerfing it’s recoil, etc. But it would give Japan a decent br2 lmg.

Am I the only one who thinks the Type 11 is better than the Type 97? Either way, I don’t think it’s a terrible idea. I just don’t think it’s necessary. In fact, I would rather if both the Type 99 and 96 sights were changed. They are way too cramped, which is why I use the Type 11 in BR III still.

I think it’s pretty neat but the big ammo hopper gets in the way. If the type 97’s scope was removable it’d be perfect.

If 1 of them were given a telescopic sight then I wouldn’t mind having 2 nearly identical guns at br3 because at least 1 would have a gimmick but as they currently are I think the type 99 should probably be downtired.

I made a suggestion about that once, but surprisingly no one really backed it up

Didn’t the Type 96 have one in game and real life too? I feel like it would be the perfect candidate

Both had a telescopic sight irl but the type 99 originally had a unusable scope modeled on it in game.

I must not have seen it because I think that’s a great idea that I’d back.

if you move the bar to br2 the us would have a good br2 mg as well, cause if the Japanese have bad sites the us at br2 have even worse site, love 30 round brit mgs but the sites are bad, trouble s flip them upside down with bottom mags and move sites to top and you have br3/4 mgs

I had to buy four of the Hotchkiss Japanese MG’s when the BP store was still open to actually have a decent BR2 Japanese MG. I can tolerate the Type 97 (I believe the one with the scope) because it is good at longer ranges, but I can only use it as a hip fire MG in close qtrs fighting. I love the Hotchkiss and would love to see it added to the TT. Of course, no money in it for the dev’s in the TT so I don’t ever expect it. And the way they slowly spoon feed weapons in events now, it might never come up, as well as many other decent weapons.

I bought quite a few weapons when they were on sale just before the BP store closed.

we have hundreds of guns but divided between four factions, us/uk - ussr - germany/italt - japan. five brs multiple categories including smgs, rifle, pistols, machine guns, sniper rifles, tanks, fighter, attackers, heavy weapons, at weapons.

tech tree, event squads, premium s=quads, former bp weapons, event weapons, battle pass weapons. what we need is not more weapons but more ways to earn them. there are between 400 and 600 weapons only around 200 of them are in the tech tree.

we have more weapons than most games can dream up put into more groups than most sane people would tolerate. if we could find a way of giving limited numbers of restricted weapons without enraging people who earned bought them and without shattering the balance. everybody with multiple squads of stinger mgs, a particular nightmare is a squad of five soldiers with ten stinger mgs they can swap as never to have to reload.
