Realy guys, why would you use it if you had a choise not to?
Yeah I could get behind tracer colors linked behind the paid BP as ammo options.
Especially because it doesn’t create imbalance between f2p and paid like ammo options could.

All tracers start brush fires, I’ve seen it a lot.
I am not saying tracerless ammo should be added. I just want to choose between red or green tracers.
Red, green, blue, purple maybe, some yellow

Flamethrowers don’t burn bushes in game. So I don’t think devs care about “normal” ammo seting fires.
Probably the same reason I said it wouldn’t work: fires like that are too resource-intensive.

I figure remove the AP and spiky stuff unless you want to specify those as generally unlockable ammunition types via just playing.

In my opinion two most useful ammo types would be AP and HV, and maybe some hollow head for pistol rounds.
The rest is not worth the effort.
Instead of buying, yes, which has been the issue I warned OP about removing from his suggestion before it would get flagged all along. Until that is removed, I will not support this. But then the question becomes more of how to unlock them. Squad upgrades?
What if it was tied to the top battle pass reward for all participants (ie when you pick your rare gun you got a random ammunition item)
@VoyoMayPL all ammunitions that are considered to be “most useful” should be unlockable via grind. The spiked ammo is more of a novelty, just an odd game mechanic more than anything, which is why I thought it should be behind a battle pass.
Meaning its rare, kind of a gimmick but not game breaking.

Random - no.
One kind of obscure tracer type, like the purple @_31420124242011 mentioned, would not be so bad.
I’d argue that getting punished for killing a guy and salvaging his weapon because he had some “novel” ammo type in there pretty game-breaking. I do not like the concept at all.
Maybe not random, but I was honestly thinking space them out here and there in the BP.
And gun sabotaging ammo like the spiky ammo is kinda cheesy I don’t think I quite like that.
But what about future battle passes in that case? Better keep 1 max per battle pass or something.
Combine that with propaganda posters etc and we would have a decent lineup of cosmetic items to look forward to every BP.
You could always have the color matching the theme of the current season.
Like how the current War Thunder battle pass is Rome, the tracer could be red or gold.
If those are historical. Don’t think we would have navy blue, in the case we get naval borne troop theme etc.
I mean first five battle passes could use a random allottment of colored tracer rounds without even scratching the surface of rounds with different pros/cons.
Since some are doubting whether or not they’ll be able to finish the entire BP grind, the random single ammo award could be halfway through.
And as far as performances go I wouldn’t make them anything but subtle. Someone should be able to load in with “default” ammunition and do well.
These should not be included in battle passes, especially if one proves to be meta.
And nobody likes randomized rewards, unless they are addicted to gambling.
I actually thought the suggestion from @_31420124242011 was pretty cool. matching the tracer color to the theme of the BP.
