In the heat of battle when half my squad is shot due to mg fire, and I am indefinitely the last one standing in it, it is save to assume one can run out of ammo as my squad can no-longer be requested to give me any. Engineers from what I have played don’t really focus on building many ammo boxes either so it doesn’t help when I am holding a building shooting from the attic across the way, I would quickly run out of ammunition.
Don’t get me wrong I know you can pick up dead soldier weaponry but I haven’t really seen anything involving just picking up ammo, for instance one of my squadmates was guarding the bottom floor with the same rifle as me, it just seems a bit much to pick up his rifle and encumber myself (even if that isn’t in the game but for my little rp of things, but maybe they should add that as well, unless I am simply failing to notice it) when I can just pick up a one of his strips.
i’m afraid this cannot be done.
because it would require a complex system that counts and let remain the ammo of that soldiers. in order to be picked up
the problem is, aside from the coding, just like you current situation, you could came upon dead bodies that does not have ammo with them. and not to mention, not everyone use the same weapons with the same type of ammonution.
so, for experience, sometimes it’s better keep switching weapon from dead bodies.
perhaps waiting behind a corner with a knife. those are preatty usefull but you have to hope that the guy you are going to kill it doesn’t have a squad with him.
what i really suggest, ( to you ) is to use the chat and ask for ammo boxes. there will be eventually someone with an engineer ready to build an ammo cash for you.
that’s also a way to improve and relay on team play. insthead of solo going.
or, you can just suicide and take a new squad. as more manpower is always needed at the front. don’t get me wrong, a man can do the difference, but in the end it’s up to you ^^.

I mean not necessarily they have a system for how much ammunition is left in a weapon you pick up from the ground, so if they have a system in place for that it surely couldn’t be that much strain to just change it to just simply picking up the ammunition or so I would assume.
I think you might have misread my situation, the dead body I am referring to did have ammo I was just stating I shouldn’t have to pick up his rifle to have it. I understand that not every-one has the same weapons and surely not the same ammo, I will say that is the area I see that might provide trouble.
It’s not necessarily I don’t have access to the deads weapons, I just feel it is a bit much to pick up a whole other weapon entirely like why should I have 2 Gewehr rifles on my solider? If you get my drift.
I don’t wish to sound rude but I would have better luck just having my soldiers be engineers to build ammo boxes well before anyone does that I feel, from the games I have played the chat is almost always dead. I do agree however it should be more team orientated, but I feel like some minor changes will have to go under-way to make it better suited to reward players who are fighting side-by-side more than just those who pick a building to snipe in.
As for suiciding I understand that point, but I am a person who doesn’t really agree with wasting resources, don’t get me wrong I know where your coming from and that can be far better to do rather than Ho Chi Minhing it by yourself, but I am just not the type of person to waste a life, even if there is no punishment in doing so.
now that you let me think about it.
it can be possible, but it gets tricky.
i just realized that this game comes from cousine royale.
meaning that the inventory system could be (re)introduced.
although, it’s like any battle royale. you might get killed before grabbing the correct ammo.
you see, i’m not totally against it… but the point is, with the current state of enlisted, there is many things to be rewored, and lack of fresh content.
today a map has been released. but looking in the feedbacks. doesn’t look great unfortunally.

I mean I am not a rushful person, after all these are simply suggestions. I agree that they should obviously do the more groundbreaking things first and iron the game out, but when they get finished with the important parts they can start working on the minor life improvements.
Maybe when the game comes out of Beta they could add it in, unless something else calls their attention. I am the kinda person who is content just knowing that one day they might add it, I don’t need it today or tomorrow, obviously the game has more important matters.
Coding is not the problem. It’s the weird developers’ mind lead to current buggy and not friendly to use of weapon picking/captured system.
In last year’s OAT, we have the CRSED based complete inventory system. It just a really unique features of the game. No other similar FPS games has this function. But they just ??? and abandoned this feature, and now is the still extreme buggy weapon picking system. And the mainmenu inventory system is still very laggy to use.
The bug of weapons missing when dropped problem is still here in this version. So annoying.
