Ammo Boxes On Points

Intoduction

This is going to be a pretty short one, but the ammo boxes on certain areas in maps need to be functional.
Because players in my team will just not build a single ammo box, and when they do, they decide to either build it yards away from the zone, or in a widely open area were I can easily get shot.
These are the ones I’m on about between:

Main Subject

As some of you know, there are ammo boxes seen on maps laying around, but they seem to not be functional at all. But the developers could potentially make them functional for players to use, since teammates always seem to be lazy, or build them in scenarios that I just mentioned.

Why? What are the Benefits?

This could eventually save recourses for engineers that are keen in preserving their recourses for more practical uses.
It could waste less time for teammates who ran out of ammo, since they would already know that there are stationary ammo boxes around.
This would SIGNIFICATNLY satisfy my needs, so then I wouldn’t have to be spamming “need ammo box” every five seconds.

Other Ideas

If this hopefully but never likely comes, it could also benefit the enemy team as well.
If the enemy manages to destroy those ammo boxes, it could simply reward them with XP.
Enemies could also pick up ammo from those boxes since they could contain the same ammunition type enemy combatants are using, which brings us to differences.

Differences

Okay, so lets now talk about how these ammo boxes or multi purpose supplies differentiate between normal ammo boxes.
So about how and which ammunition the boxes can contain, I say we should make the ammo boxes to contain all sorts of ammunition for any weapons. Rockets, grenades, and even extra engineer recourses for them to collect, since it would be nice to have it as multi purpose, and potentially medical crates inside them to regain health, and medics to refill their creates. Also flasks and other equipment.
And enemy weapons, relating to how enemies could also get ammo from them.

Conclusion

So yeah, this would definitely be a great addition to the game, and mostly will benefit players greatly.

The only reason I disagree is that I think more players should feel motivated to build ammo boxes to support the team in the first place.

I also think grenades and rifle grenades should be resupplied. I don’t think its “toxic” or “op” whatsoever the same as every other chaos in this war game

You can play through entire games without needing an ammo box. But if you must let others handle the front, try bringing your own engineer. If you get really fancy and build a rally point too it’ll improve your winrate significantly.

Hardly disagree.
It depends on your play style.
I like to pick out strategic positions I can use to my advantage, giving covering fire whilst supporting my teammates. Like windows for example.
I will definitely need an ammo box for that, especially when I am defending an objective. Because I just can’t keep running around picking up enemy weapons.

However, I do agree with your last points.
But I can potentially see a problem with that, regarding rifle grenade spammers which are pretty annoying at times.

There are many instances when I’ve spammed “Need ammo box” many times and they wouldn’t just build a single one. I even had teammates reply by saying “No” or they’d build it in the scenarios I mentioned previously, or not even build a single one. So that has resulted me countless of times killing my own squad just to respawn as an engineer to build one, which I why I play engineer first.

99% of the time people using the “need ammo box” voiceline are like 300 meters behind everyone, on top of a 75 story building in a nether realm
I have no idea if that’s you, but that’s my experience. Aint nobody got time for that.
Also. I usually don’t build ammo boxes, but when I do, they never really get used anyway
or they instantly die to HE spam

I mean whatever you say, because I’m mainly speaking in the defensive perspective. But nobody barely even bothers to build one.

I do agree it sucks that many players don’t want to support the team. I believe various things can help reinforce a culture of building ammo boxes

I think AI should consume ammo, so you can’t easily switch to a fresh soldier. So you should actually care about your squad being supplied

Honestly if grenades/ rifle grenades could be resupplied that would probably be the ultimate solution to reinforce building ammo boxes. If it was there would be dozens of boxes every time

I also think grenades and rifle grenades should be resupplied. I don’t think its “toxic” or “op” whatsoever the same as every other chaos in this war game

you are full of it, is four not enough for you
that is four per soldier with the right pack
or three per rifle if you need more bring an infantry squad that 27 rifle - or 54 if you choose second primary

and 9 to 36 grenades with pack

no you do not need more

That is a valid point.
However, that could get really annoying when there is no engineer around, then you just end up running out of ammunition.

Well isn’t that the point to motivate more players to build ammo boxes in the first place

Pre placed ammo boxes would be cool. May be interesting if “explosive ammo” boxes were implemented. Could be more expensive to build and could possibly be used to rearm allied armor.
In addition, all APC should function as ammo points as well as the paratrooper boxes. And to create more fun, all ammo points should be extremely volatile, exploding when fired upon.

I don’t think there’s a need for a new ammo box type since the current one resupplies just about everything, AT weapons, mortars, flamethrowers, etc

But the current one can be updated. Let’s keep it simple with just one ammo box

Simpler in this case would indeed be better.

Have just seen separate ammo v explosive boxes used and it works. Separating the two and making the latter more expensive to build may help cut back on an inevitable throwable spam situation.

Regardless, have no issue with basic ammo boxes giving explosives.

I sort of agree however, that is not my point.
What I’m trying to get in that context, is how there should at least be a way to replenish every weapon.
This is best illustrated and shown in games such as Battlefield 5 and Insurgency Sandstorm.

And besides from decoration or potential cover, what other purpose do those crates serve being there?

Personally ammo boxes should work like medkit boxes. a secondary item that you just equip and drop, only available for rifleman

Yes but, it makes kind of more sense to have it all as stationary in particular areas.
